Velocity excludes points and SC earn on NZ "Pacific Island flights". So, if I book a ticket say MEL-AKL-RAR on NZ do I still get the points/SC's for the MEL-AKL sectors or does having the whole booking on one PNR cancel the whole earn out?

Asked the guest service centre but this issue was waaaay over their heads :p

Also on a related topic from the Velocity T&C's, what does the following actually mean if your status assessment comes up in September?
6.24 We will not assess your Membership Level based on the number of Eligible Sectors flown until 25 August 2012, however, we will calculate the number of Eligible Sectors you have flown from August 2011.

Asked the guest service centre what it meant but I may as well been asking my 9 year old nephew. :p

PS the "Platinum" call centre is now running 0 for 5 on my questions.

If I were to make a guess, I'd say that because NZ flights credit sector-per-sector -- you'll end up with points and SCs for MEL-AKL, then AKL-RAR credit as 0 with something like "Not valid for earn" marked next to it.

I'm trying to work out what happens if you fly, say, OOL-SYD-WLG on DJ codes. Do you earn:
  • OOL-WLG by the number of $$ spent
  • OOL-SYD by the number of $$ spent (broken up somehow by a percentage of miles flown?), then SYD-WLG as miles flown by fare class
  • OOL-WLG as miles flown by fare class, or
  • OOL-SYD-WLG as miles flown by fare class

Equally perplexing are how to calculate SCs (though I would assume it follows whichever of the scenarios above is correct). Does anyone know the answer to this one??

I read this as any status reassessments that occur on or after the 25th of August next year will take number of Eligible Sectors you have flown in to consideration.

Is this why the number of eligible sector hasn't changed even 2 weeks after my flight? (It was a DJ flight.)

I'm also keen to know how long it normally takes for a NZ flight to show up...
