For those that haven't heard yet, the 737s (and maybe EJets?) have had a Pre-Recorded Audio Only Safety Demonstration installed.

It seems to be up to the crew, some use it, some still read out the safety demonstration manually.

I recorded it on one of my recent flights. See the attached file below:

(If anybody can suggest a easier way for me to make that file available for download, let me know.)

Not new news at all, as mentioned to you prior, this has been common practice since the introduction of J class. The E-Jets do not have the Pre recorded announcements. In the instance of short taxis or unserviceable equipment, the announcements are not used.

Sounds smart and professional, yet not boring.

Thanks for the recording Liam!

What's wrong with putting it on youtube?

Scratch that, I immediately assumed it was video despite reading audio in the opening post.

I like it, and about time theymade it happen!

It sounds typically Virgin, and note the same female voice you hear when calling the call centre, as well as on the 777 and 330 video demonstrations. Attempting to establish a consistent branded experience no doubt. In which case I don't think it should be up to the crew whether to use or not. Short taxi? QF don't not use their standard demo for a short taxi...I don't think? It's better than having the crew rush out 1000 words a minute.
