Hi there

Currently QF Gold and thinking of moving to Virgin Australia...

I already have membership with Virgin Atlantic (but no status - mainly used to redeem points from AMEX and fly to London upper class - way "cheaper" than QF awards...)

Should I just use my Virgin Atlantic membership and accrue miles there or will be better off signing up for Velocity?

... and if I do sign up for Velocity do they have any welcome bonus promos and/or status match for QF Gold?

You have missed the status match up, and as for accrual, I would just sign up for Velocity, VS is handy for car rental credit but thats about it.
