Non-flyer access to DJ SYD T2 Lounge for presentation? (with large bags)

I have been asked to do a presentation at DJ SYD T2 Lounge meeting room but will not be flying that day and have no status with Virgin. The (potential) problem is that I will have 2 large sample bags with me that will not fit through the security X-ray machine.

Anyone had experience with this situation? Perhaps make arrangements to use the DJ premium entry? I have already called the Lounge but didn't get much help ......... I will try another call and perhaps get someone more helpfull.

I guess I'd be asking whoever asked me to make the presentation there to arrange access for me (and my 'props')?

You could always ask for an escorted entry through the terminal's loading dock, which has a much larger x-ray

Hmmmm ........... that could be the way. One of the challenges is trying to contact the appropriate security supervisor!

Problem solved. Present to the security checkpoint and the supervisor on duty will arrange for the bags to be inspected and checked with the larger machine.

Of course there is always the possibilty of a different experience when I get there!

No worries - glad it's all sorted for you (hopefully)! Have done a similar thing in the past where I needed to take my (international sized) checked bags into the departure area (to then check at the gate), but the priority check-in staff sorted that all out for me at the time haha

As an update, of course things didn't go as planned. They would not let me go through security with the bags, even when I explained that I had called and talked to xx_ supervisor. In the end I went out of the terminal and in to the lounge via the premium entry and explained that I was to do a presentation to xx_xx_ Group ............ no problem - come on in! We took some stuff out of one bag and put them through their Xray at the lounge entrance.
