Why do we call it (and Trevor) the Red Roo?

I suppose the (or one of, or the major) signature colour of Qantas is red, and the signature symbol is a kangaroo (or roo).

Hence Red Roo.

From 1947 until 1984, the roo was in fact red on the logo, so at present its been a red roo for the majority of QF's existence in terms of the logo.

Simple, because the most remembered and prominent colour on the logo is red. White isn't always remembered especially when against more prominent primary colours, and the Kangaroo is surrounded by the red.

Sounds more mythical to me ;)

Thanks markis10 for the most plausible answer ;)

Personally when I see the aircraft all I see is the sea of white with a splasher of Dexteresque red ;)
