Flashware and cove tried to explain our "passion" for points etc to my 2 colleagues between a few drinks courtesy of the Hilton Canary Wharf:p

Straitman and I decided an oblique reference to frequent flying was more than adequate when a non FF friend of mine joined us in the BNE lounge last year ;)

Great flight last night. A face reappeared, very passive aggressive on deboarding. Guy next to me decided that his seat extended to my ribcage.

But the icing on the cake was having a car in the right turn only lane deciding to go straight across the round-about, rather than turn right. Must say I was *very* annoyed, especially with the other driver, "Jeff" from Avis and the AFP officer telling me accidents happen. Well not if you turn right when your supposed to, not if you pay attention to the road.

Anyway, don't want to get too ranty as this the accident is a minor issue besides all the paperwork.

A rather funny thing happened. When I was taking the details I looked at the car and thought it was a Ssangyong but there was no label, so I asked the driver (an older lady very Ita Buttrose looking). "It's a Mercedes"
Me: "pretty sure it's a Ssangyong"
Ita: "It's a built by Mercedes, therefore it's a Mercedes"
Ok then!

Maybe I'm being unfair to Ita.

....aah, I can call my Chrysler a Mercedes then :!:

You know what airport lounges need? A cone of silence, so those people who like talking loudly on their mobile phones can do so without me needing to hear it all!! I bet there's a lounge dragon or 2 who'd like to have the power to push the button that makes it descend and trap the offender....

Today's culprit is a walker - talking loudly and walking around... thus annoying more people per minute than if he were stationary!

DYKWHI???

If you ahd the cone of silence, then you'd have to have the flash cards for when the cone breaks / extra security required......

Yes, 5-10% off prices that in some cases are higher than normal elsewhere. I am going to get a refurb iPAD2 from the Apple store, saving $200 off yesterdays price, pity they have excluded iPads from the Velocity earn again.

Excluded? **** glad I read that, was going to place an order in the next few days!

I'm sure I read that as something different .. :p

I wish you luck.

We had a Telsta fault registered about every two weeks.
In less than 2 weeks it becomes an Optus fault and their problem to fix. But at least it won't be a case of Telstra saying the line is fine and my ADSL provider saying their gear is good and problem is a bad Telstra line. While it will be the same copper cable between my home and the exchange, it will be one company responsible for making it work properly and not two different companies trying to blame each other.

mind you, I am still waiting for Optus to activate a new mobile SIM card. Apparently they are having problems with their SIM activation process yesterday and today. So my daughter's new iPhone is currently a iPod with no cellular capability.

The obsession with gadgets is getting totally out of control.... scratch that.... is out of control....

I should not be nasty but there is a lady at work that takes her iPod with her for 2-3 minute toilet breaks. Can't survive a few minutes without it?

there are more iPods in Australia than humans, good thing we have two ears.

I like gadgets but can't afford to be a gadget freak (also am failing to make the economics of being an early adopter). But, that's a bit of an extreme case IMO.

Well, if you count iPhone and iPads as being iPods, then our house had 8 iPods and 6 humans. Made up to 3 x iPhone, 2 x iPod Touch, 1 x iPod Nano, 1 x iPod Classic, 1 x iPad, 2 x parents, 3 x teenagers and 1 x pre-teenager. But purely on the strict products named iPods, its a 2:3 ratio.

Speaking for housemate and myself...

2 x iPad
2 x iPhone (soon to be 3, in use anyway not accounting for the old ones in drawers not being used)
1 x 3rd Gen iPod
1 x iPod Shuffle

Count all the other iTunes devices themselves, and it gets a little nuts.

I prefer to think of things as being 'convenient' rather than overkill ;)
