Watch out for the ghosts, demons and vampires. Have you got extra garlic?

I’m kind of with Denali here. I never liked the Prodigal Son parable either. It’s like people who are nasty all their lives then fess up on their death bed. So all is supposed to be ok.

See that’s why forgiveness is so difficult and at the same time so easy.
No easy solution - blood feuds can carry on for centuries and often inter generational. However in this case it appears everyone is going to their own corner.

Yes laptop. Can't turn it on. Played some nursery rhymes for daughter in the morning and tried again in evening and no power.
How old is it?. Laptops notoriously have a short production cycle. If more than 1-2 generation old it is likely that there are no parts for it.

The trouble is when you give them the 2 cents worth back and it turns into the fullblown 5 cents worth you have stored up over many years .........

Depends how the child has been trained. At 2.5 years we took our son to an upmarket French restaurant in Melbourne. The waiter was French and looked down his nose at us.But when he took the orders our son holding the menu upside down replied-I will have pate and then some camembert please.
Well the waiter changed his mind and we became his special customers.

I started this thread 12.5 years ago as a place where our members can discuss pretty much anything. It has proven to be a popular place for general chit-chat amongst our members, attracting over 78,000 posts!

While most of the chat is friendly and rather benign, the "anything goes" nature of this thread has led to some issues. Admin and the Moderation team have therefore decided to call time and close this thread. It will be replaced by a new member chit-chat thread with some new rules.
