I've been staying at the sofitel in sydney for almost a year now and have racked up almost 50,000 points.

convert to hotel vouchers or swap to qff points? 50k in qantas points gets me almost a business seat to HK? or it gets me a week of accomdation there.

thoughts?!?

140 views and tumbleweeds...

I'll give you some tumbleweeds!! :p

I stayed at the Sofitel last night and used points to upgrade to Club access. As has been discussed elsewhere, the rort that is A|Club Points is that when you cash them in at the hotel, the $US conversion rate they use is the hotel one. So for $120 in $US I only got AUD$101 in value.

Plus, if you want to use them for stays, you can't book the cheaper rooms - but have to go for a flexible rate which is also dearer. So if I was you, I'd convert them to Frequent Flier Points.

There is a better discussion on this here

converting to qff points I think is the plan - Originially I was trying to earn 3.5k worth of euro to buy myself a sobed...

I have been converting to QFF miles, not much other value in the a-club points for me
