There is a Finnair lounge and depending on your status or COS you have access to that one. Have only had really short connections in HEL so lounge time has been minimal there but the lounge was adequate.

Biscuits and fruit.

Probably similar standard to an AA lounge in the US (including the cash bar).

Just remembered that I have had to wait in the schengen lounge last time and they don't have showers and I wasn't really impressed by that one.

It depends on where you are headed to or from.The AY Non Schengen lounge I enjoyed.Great showers.Bottled wine(cheap)and wine on tap were available-it was breakfast time.Could buy higher quality stuff.
The Schengen lounge is more basic.So if you are flying in from BKK,HKG etc do as we did if time-go to the non Schengen lounge and leave enough time to do the Immigration before heading to your Schengen gate.

ISTR seeing 3 lounges at HEL prior to an AY flight HEL-LHR.

I cannot recall in detail their entry criteria, and I believe they were all in the same area (Schengen I presume?) of the terminal. I suspect I ended up in the one awilcockson described above.

The first I poked my head into looked more like a Coles cafeteria, and I decided it was not the one for me. I wandered further along and found one that looked better suited, but when the attendant saw my BP, she suggested, "there is a lounge further down for you". So I kept moving and eventually ended up in the third one, as described above.

If you hold status on OneWorld, or are flying in business class then you will have access to a lounge.

If you are a qantas club member only and not in business class, no lounge access.

Yes, I remember there being two lounges. And beer on tap, too.
