Air Australia auction!

hmmm... how do we handle splitting and shipping? I'm sure we could sell any individual remaining trolleys on ebay - they usually go for a few hundred dollars each. But shipping around australia would not be cheap ex BNE.

I would be interested in contributing though.

Maybe you could "carry them on" and stow them in a spare slot in the galley ;)

FWIW I’d put in $100 but think we’ll fall far short of the total now.

Plus, 55 trolleys wont fit in my car!

i think this would be a huge logistics issue! If I was in BNE i'd be happy to sort through everything and arrange transportation (a similar trolley a few years ago cost me about $118 in shipping).

Would make a unique dressing table .. if there's a group buy going I'd take part :)

Count me in i'll pay up to $150 for a couple of them (or $100 for one).

Current bid at $1700.

Is someone actually doing this? Auction closes in 90 minutes!!!

1 hour left at $1700, I could go as high as $150 which is about 5 trolleys worth, depending on the final amount, though I barely have space for 1 :p

Edit: Almost $2000 now.

Mmmmm. The stairs would come in handy. I keep locking myself out of my unit, and they'd reach my balcony perfectly!

Would be intruders *surely* wouldn't use them to get into my bedroom, would they?

I'm thinking the stairs too, for the back door too - the number of times my aerobidge wont reach the front door....

How about this. The people that want to be apart of the group by for the trolley post the max they are willing to put in.
We'll add the numbers up and put a bid in. (just have to be mindful to add GST and the 12% commission.)

I'll start with $300

I'd put in somewhere between $100 - $200 for 1 trolley

$6500 inc. all the fees. :(

super bummed

Skywest is my bet

Agree, especially since they plan to commence A320 services to DCN come late APR.

Thanks to anyone that placed a bid or were successful in obtaining goods - the funds will partly go to pay off outstanding super that Air Australia owes both myself and all my fantastic former colleagues.

Cheers :)

Apparently the petty cash tin at John Holland Aviation is 100K poorer after visiting the auction with cash.
