Good people Cruiserette and myself arriving into AMS Jun 20 at 07:10 - then need to get to BCN prolly that day.

Vueling have flt dep BCN 09:40 - is that sufficient time to connect?

They are advertising J class but I cannot see this as REAL J class - can anybody enlighten?

Anybody with any general experience with Vueling?

Have done two flights with Vueling 5 months ago.

GRX-BCN

BCN-ORY

On time, new planes, friendly staff, very accommodating with luggage weight - was expecting a huge OW charge however, they smiled & handed me the BP's.....J* can learn a thing or two! Would hop on again in a heartbeat.

The two planes we were on did not have J class.....nor, was there any option to book J. They sold premium seats similar to VA where the middle seat is blocked.

Didn't know this at the time however, I've read you can access IB lounges with your OW status!

Who are you arriving into AMS on? Luckily there’s only one terminal, but could be quite long walks from one end to the other. Vueling will leave from Pier B.

If you're happy to listen to my one Vueling experience, Orly-Rome...

Pretty happy with the price - $208 for two including baggage (1.5 years ago). Had to print out our boarding passes and bring them to the airport. The flight left half an hour late. The cabin felt a bit bare inside (like Jetstar maybe?) but clean and not too cramped (unlike Jetstar in my opinion). You could pay extra to sit in the first few rows and get out sooner, but nobody did and they were empty on pushback - however the flight attendants did 'op-up' some people into those seats later. I managed to get 4A. Overall I was happy and would fly them again. Sounds like J is a new addition to their flights or at least it wasn't available on mine.

Who arrive around the other side of the airport, to pier G. However after the long walk to the terminal building, you’re essentially right where you need to be. Assuming immigration is speedy you should have no trouble getting to your gate. However never flown through so not sure what immigration is likely to be like and ~2 hours does seem a little tight.

Thanks sam ................2hrs 20mins is on skinny side - if I was alone I would not give a blink - but would hate to think of the constructive advice I would receive if miss connection.

Of course the other alternative is to spend a day in AMS - I love window shopping :)

Have they changed the law yet to you can’t have a brownie in a nice cafe? ;)

I think that 'most' of intra-Europe is a joke (That's just me as QF/VA have spoiled us)

Why not catch the evening flight IB5771 that departs 18:35 and spend most of the day exploring in Amsterdam. The weather should be quite nice in June ;) Public transport from AMS to Centraal Station is convenient, and from there you can pretty much walk/tram to anywhere in the City you like.

Also give intra-Europe J mostly su**s why not save almost 75% and fly Y ;)

YES valid pts Alan - but weather in BCN probably nicer - and going from MEL on June 19 - well would rather get into the sun beside pool or on beach as quickly as poss - not really into the touristy looky looky thingy - and anyway the windows don't fill up til after dark - that my kind of sightseeing. :)

May well fly Y - have not really priced anything yet - but we both like to sit up the front and it is the annual splurge - $$'s not really issue here.

I wouldn't pay the extra $$$ for short European hops in J. 1, maybe 2 hours MAX.
Lucky AMS-BCN is 02:10 duration - so I guess you would approve J in this case?

Either way this is one of the wonderful things that make up the rich tapestry of life my friend - we are all free to make our own decisions - I wouldn't pay 8K to fly MEL-PVG on QF - I would pay 2.2K to fly MU - others would disagree.

There is no J class on this service.

Think J* front row with the middle seat blocked with the same minimal service .....if you're keen for J service fly another carrier.

Having flown VY they are a good airline however, they are from same gene pool as J*......the only J they have is the one in their name;)
