I've just caught myself signing in to my FF account for the 6th time today to see if the points from my last flight have posted (they haven't yet). I'm not going to do anything immediately with the points, and I know how much to expect (BNE-SYD in Y - 1000pts), but I still find myself checking.

So, I ask you fellow flyers, how often do you check your account? And what exactly are you looking for? And shouldn't we all be working?

I almost treat it like a bank account... points going in and out all the time.

We try to extract a retail value of 4 cents a point as a minimum but sometimes it can go quite a bit higher. We don't think of it as a bank account but it saves a real heap on not paying for air tickets.

I'll check 2-3 times per day :-|

Anything more than 2-3 times a day would be an addiction IMO ;)

It's an addiction when you want to find the window of opportunity to snaffle the award benefit and are hanging out for the cusp of availability!

In my case it generally represents non economy travel on long haul at economy rates.

What's worse if the availability is there, but you are awaiting the transfer from MR or similar to hit the account so you can take advantage.

I selected once a day but the reality is sometimes it’s several times a day and others it’s a couple times a week.

Checked for upcoming award flights 3-4 times a day from 353 days out until I snagged them. In total about 4 months worth of logging on and attempting to book. It happened to be on the 4th attempt for the day (app 1900) that they became available. Way to kill a soon to be 5 yr old's night time routine!!!

Outside of that I check when I think points and SCs (when applicable) should have posted. SC's 1340 to 1400 were checked on religiously for a few days as the changeover to WP took a few days.

Somewhere in between once a day and once a week.

When I am trying to improve my seat selection though it could be several times a day but I am not actually checking balances, just bookings.

Either way even if checked once a week I would class it as an addiction.

If you're checking that constantly, I strongly recommend an iOS or Android app that will check your points and SC balance for you. Much quicker. It can even be set to do it regularly!
