Comments at the Aviation Herald are tending towards a write off, but of course I’m not suggesting anyone commenting there is any more in the know than here...

Funny how most of the experts on places such as pprune suggested NBW would be a write off...

Anything could happen.

For most people concerned, if it can't be fixed with lots of duct tape, it's a write off.

I saw a lot of duct tape being used for aviation repairs when I was trawling through Africa. Don't laugh, it works, mostly.

Different airline, age of aircraft and obviously type, QF repaired NXE which was similar, it all comes down to economics versus reputation.

Just saying anything can happen. Comments on places like Pprune don't really mean much.

AFAIK, 'tis called 'Speed Tape' - works with automobiles as well!

when motor racing, we call it 'hundred mile an hour tape'

further, the racers tool kit consists of WD40 and Duct Tape. If it moves and it shouldn't = Duct Tape. If it should move but it doesn't = WD40
