Anyone affected by them this morning? I'd love to hear personal experiences. I'm 17.5megametres away. So not affected. :-)

Sent from my Telstra iPhone using the Australian Frequent Flyer application.

Pretty widespread fog apparently. International flights affected include those by Cathay, Air Asia, China Southern and Qantas.

A friend ended up with a night in ADL after his VA MEL-PER was diverted last night due to the fog.

The qantas website says QF68 from HKG went to Alice springs!

Cx 137 ended up in Port Headland(their spelling). I guess they don't go there much because they didn't spell it right on the website. :)

FIFO planes were also delayed to sites such as Kambalda, Brockman, Yandi etc. Planes heading into Perth from the Pilbara are also delayed, presumably due to the backlog.

Extend Bunbury

If you could land a 737 in Bunbury or Albany ex Eastern states (or via ADL) that would surely open up the south west to more tourism.

Surely a airline can find 183 pax wanting to see the old' Amity in Albany daily. Or tourists flying Mel - Albany then driving South west and flying out of Perth.

I would love to be able to fly there tomorrow (as I have an appointment down there).

It is fairly cost prohibitive, even from PER.

My friend just got back to Per on tt8172. Only 24 hours after first checking in at Mel.

Go Tiger! ;)

I was lucky. Waited 15 ins for the long term bus (sign says 10 mins), walked into terminal and joined the queue for security which stretch almost back to the door, then realised that priority was working. As I went through security my fligth boarded 10 minutes early, WTF:shock:

Went to Gate 11B, after the toilet and flight being called a third time. Down stairs to a bus. Plane was sitting over near the skippers terminal, which I have never seen a QF flight so far away. We then sat there for an hour, til another bus arrived and baggage was finalised.

Perhaps just expand KAL. (600Km away)

Needs a DJ Lounge anyway..

I head somewhere that this has been spoken about before and that land has been set aside for the run way to be extended. But KGI has its share of foggy morning this time of year also..
