I have just had to make a change to a flight. I was on a D class ticket (whole of government flexible economy, with lounge access: used to be a Defence fare), which I thought gave me the flexibility to make last-minute changes. Unfortunately, not. To switch my flight from tomorrow to today, I had to pay an extra $100 and upgrade to an I class fare. I can't find reference to this fare type on the Virgin website, except as a long-haul international business fare. This isn't that: I am travelling from Rockhampton to Canberra via Brisbane. Can anyone tell me what this fare class is and what it includes (food, entertainment, lounge access?):?:

Never mind: found it in my itinerary. I is the government fully flexible fare category, and yes includes lounge, food and entertainment.

Now that I've found the first answer, I have another question. My itinerary says this fare has "inclusive food and drinks from our onboard menu". What does this mean? Can I just order whatever I like from the menu without paying extra?

They will provide you with a designated 'meal'. They make an annoucement like 'shortly after take off we will be coming through the cabin to serve a meal to those guests who purchased a flexi fare' or there abouts. It comes on a tray, but i've never really paid much attention to what it actually is.
