QF have some nice deals ex SIN if you want to nest a return in as part of another trip, with SIN-PER for $650 SGD , although it pays to look at not only the sale column as the prices are not really a sale compared to the super saver!

The xmas dates themselves are somewhat excluded (from 1-25th Dec for the flights I was looking at). Sad, because I'm being forced to take leave over xmas but can't afford to go anywhere at xmas prices *sulk*

Ex-SIN fares are pretty good value generally. I normally book SIN-SYD-SIN (sometimes as SIN-xMEL-SYD-xMEL-SIN) often in the SGD$800-SGD$900 mark ;)

Interesting though that flights to MEL start from $998 SGD, whereas SYD/BNE/ADL are all $808. Even HBA is only $988. MEL is nearly almost always more expensive than other cities ex-SIN and usually you can only get cheaper fares if you route via PER or SYD. I suspect they want to push lower fare paying pax on this route to JQ, but I guess there could be higher demand due to less thru services to LHR. Never mind, I am becoming a real fan of the day flight from SIN to MEL on SQ, now an A380, so much more enjoyable than the short overnight flight (on any carrier) and especially better than flying via SYD or PER.

Currently getting SGD$808 rtn (AUD$622) around Nov and Jan which is pretty decent.

Are the 388s always excluded from the sale prices or just high load meaning the 747 and BA flights are easier to find these sale buckets?
