I am considering purchasing one of the Everki Flight backpacks
everki.com/index.php/products1/backpacks/flight-checkpoint-friendly-laptop-backpack-fits-up-to-16-detail

The neat thing about this bag is it opens flat so (in theory) you do not need to get your laptop out of the bag and put it in a tray etc.
Has anyone here had any experience with one of these bags (or similar) and the reaction at the security check?
My concern is that the gestapo at the airport will tell me to take it out and put it in a tray.

They are likely to do that. They still (sometimes) tell me to remove nine from the small case I keep mine in.

Yeah, I'd say you'll need to take it out. Heck, I've even had to take my 11" MBA out of its sleeve at some check points.

Part of the reason I went for a clear hardshell Speck case. Sometimes I just leave in in my bag and pretend I don't have one.
