South Australia has checks on the roads connecting to other states and also have the dogs at the airport, sometimes.

Subsequent to that post, I remembered a check was made on the Indian Pacific when I crossed the country that way once!

You take a chance flying in to Tasmania. There is always a Quarantine officer to meet you at DPO and they do random searches.I was searched last time I landed at BWT.
Then occasionally they have Quarantine dogs to give you the once over.

I have also experienced a dog that jumped into the back of our vehicle on arrival into Devonport by ship, and I am more than happy to comply with regulations in regards to quarantine.

I fully respect any state for endeavouring to protect their valuable industries, be it agriculture, honey, marine or any others. It's not done on a whim. You would have to be blind and deaf not to notice the devastating effect that unwanted pests can have.

I DON'T RESPECT people who are prepared to risk these industries by believing it is their right to do what they want. So what if you aren't caught. If you are intelligent, compassionate and care about the world and not just yourself, you adhere to rules for the essence behind them :!: (here endeth my sermon)
