One thing I'd like to be able to do is use points to be on one of those delivery flights .. would be an awesome money-can't-buy-this opportunity :)

Yes that is exactly the sort of thing QF should be offering to P1s. Other airlines let some of their VIP frequent flyers go on the delivery flights along with media, QF should do the same.

I was thinking more for VA, but anyway.. ;)

Re: VA Gets 100 737 Month After QF

Not really.. They haven't been operating them for much longer than VA have been around.

Umm, QF have been operating 737s for around 20 years longer than VA.

Re: VA Gets 100 737 Month After QF

I don't recall Qantas having 737's in 1980...

Actually 15, VH- TAF in 1985 was the first ordered, still flying with Comair.

Re: VA Gets 100 737 Month After QF

By Australian Airlines though, not Qantas.

Same thing given they merged in 93, which even in Qantas colours means they have had them for 50% longer than VA at 20 years VS 13.

Not really, you've gone from 20 to 15 and now to 7.

Take it from when Qantas acquired them, not when AA did.

I think your maths needs some work.

LOL, I think your memory needs some work, the 400s first flew in QF colours in 93 if your not prepared to accept the 733s were Qantas. Still 50% longer than Virgin, point stands.

93 is 7 years, and not 50% last I checked on a calculator, and a far cry from the 20 years you first stated.

1993 to 2013 = 20 years
2001 to 2013 is 12 years

Not quite 50% (more like 66%) I agree but close enough, and hardly close to your statement of not much longer!

Didn't Virgin start in 2000?
