Hi folks

Can any regular traveller to Japan confirm whether or not your standard Aussie electric toothbrush charger will work in japan. Its 220 volt, so can it be used (with the plug adapter, of course) in Japanese 100 volt power points?

Is it rated at something like 110-250vac or therabouts?

Have you checked with the hotel, in places where there is 110V hotels often provide a 220-240 circuit in each room for the reasons that are somewhat obvious.

We'll be staying all bar 4 of 24 nights in apartments, so will probably go with the elbow-powered option

I have a standard Oral-B unit that I bought here. It's always in my travel bags - I use another one for home. Although it says 220-240V/50-60Hz, it does charge the brush everywhere I've been including the USA (110V). It's got an Australian plug of course but that fits most shaver power outlets in hotels (it's lower power than a shaver), so you can keep your AC adaptor for other things.
