It's about a new look that goes deeper than
our new uniform.

Popped onto QF's site to make seat selections at T-80 and was greeted with a new design.

Yeah, there's a new look that goes deeper than your new uniform alright... and it's hurting my eyes. QF's website just got a facelift and all the red and blue just hurts... Although they are tying in the colours of the new uniform and this time you can tell that it's dark blue.

On another note, QF seems to be using a new url for their advertising that keeps asking FireFox where I am... (qant.as)

Qantas Uniform | Qantas Going Places | Qantas Spirit

And let the admiration and discussion of the new site begin. (Someone is definitely going to have to try and talk me into liking this new design)

They have actually copied the look and (dis) functionality of the VA website  I think it's a new look that only puts them deeper in the hole.

Something that they seem to be good at if only they were good at getting out of holes !!!!!

Really? I quite like and tolerate VA's site. It's definitely not as in your face as the obnoxious thick red bar like QF's site and the whole page slideshow for VA's ads seems a lot better than the uneven sectioning on QF's site with the still horrible plain white background that just causes massive contrast issues for me.

Site doesn't even open for me as of this morning. Brilliant work.

Some sections are temporarily unavailable and will be restored soon. Please continue to book and manage flights with confidence.

Looks like its changed /changing back to the old design lol

Doesn't look as bad as I thought it would be. Though the red could be toned down a bit, and the blue needs to be matched in with the rest of the site.

Interesting to note that the Oneworld logo has been positioned at the top of the page, previously it was located in the footer.

P.S QF - Please improve/fix your Multi-city booking engine whilst you're at it!

Speaking of footers.

JQ has no place on the QF main page! Not at the bottom in the footer, not anywhere!

Site crashing here... the scrolling sale banners not working here either...

Perhaps yet another enhancement to stop e looking up classic / xASA availability

The new makeover is the usual mess, not thought out nor tested apparently by the Q IT boffins, the site in Safari is all over the place, going to wrong pages, when will they ever learn, fully test before uploading.

and it says "you can now book hotels with your Qantas points" no you can't.

Most of us here love our Qantas and the QFF program, but for gods sake get the site correct or get new IT people.

The new design is neither here nor there. It is the functionality and annoying traits that have yet to be fixed that gets me.

You might want to check your facts and get them correct

I cannot see too many using it at that burn rate though![/FONT]

I'm finding the home page very slow to render on an iPad. But a new UI layer is only bling if the underlying functionality is flawed. I'm willing to give the new look a go though (not that there's a choice involved); I think it looks ok.

I'm not too taken back by the changes, after all, they've merely added colour where before there was none. The general layout is still the same. Perhaps a tad clunkier but over time you'll either get used to that or they'll tweak it.

Main issues for me right now is that the front page doesn't match the account section (though imagine they wont take long pushing the new look and feel site wide. Also, can't load the specials, I get a mostly blank page and when I click on domestic specials, it takes me to the booking engine... useful, but I'd still like to see where the sales are to before I start booking :p

You have been able to for a while.

Shame they didn't spend the money fixing the booking engine instead and brought mASA's back on line.
