but apparantly it was the end of civilization as we know it....i ve just been giggling all day about the 'issues' people are having...also didnt work for me this morning...lots of bugs..kept checking occassionally thru the day...back to normal function now..'crisis' averted....i only hope i can cope with the new colour scheme/fonts/a bit of rejigging here n there!! lol

The website works fine now.
Some people don't like changes, some don't like Qantas and some don't like both ;)

Re: Has the website changed overnight or is it just me?

Forgot to mention, one thing I did like and thought was new, was the addition of the OneWorld logo in a prominent top right hand position. Hopefully this is signifying that they aren't going anywhere and are happy in the alliance?

modifying the to and/or from cities in a search still also changes the dates back to the day of your search. a real pain in the A, and very poor programing!!! LEAVE THE DATES UNCHANGED

Just spent a very frustrating 30mins with the QF website this afternoon.

I'm compelled to book flights on my Corporate TA website, which doesn't display prices (PIA in itself when I have a price-sensitive Client I on-bill), so I always have the QF website open in parallel so I can choose the best price, especially handy for those 15min frequency SYD-MEL where, chances are, the arrival time bears no resemblance to reality.

Tried multiple OW queries on the QF website to build a multi-leg it in next week.

Try as I might, "refining the search" entering new legs, dates, times, the search result would always default to the previous search. Tried bringing up the QF site again, same problem.

Had to closure Firefox and try start again. Obviously some "enhancement" to cache handling.

I now gave two PIA websites to deal with when booking.

I thought school holidays had started for the work experience kids...

Seriously, Red Roo, when are QF going to take their IT seriously??

Regards,

BD

...and some are just trying to find a way of spending money with QF.

I think even in the middle of an Aussie summer the chances of Hell freezing over are still higher than QF fixing that one.

... and some people don't like to find that they can't book the flights they want because some incompetent dork in some o/s Qantas IT sweatshop stuffed up again and Qantas simply put the changes live without checking.

HOORAY !!! But just why shouldn't this website, of a major corporation, where the website is used as a primary / large source of revenue, work all the time (unforeseen things notwithstanding)?

Great question, sadly internal politics often see marketing win out where branding and looks replace sales and functionality in big corporations, its a trend thats growing in the hospitality industry.

P.S QF - Please improve/fix your Multi-city booking engine whilst you're at it!
That will be the day!

No wonder Qantas is struggling with all these issues on their website. People cant purchase the airfares they want and go elsewhere.

I quite like the changes, actually. However, it seems somewhat bandwidth intensive, although I'm accessing this from a 200M connection in SIN. I doubt it works as well elsewhere though (especially places not connected to fibre/NBN/etc).

It looks fine to me. No real changes in content or functionality that I can see.

I'm having major issues with the site this morning, trying to book flights for a quick NZ break next Easter / Anzac Day. Getting a whole lot of 'Waiting for book.qantas.com.au'... And now a 'Generic Error'. Hooray.

On the broader functionality, it astounds me that you still cannot book a simple open-jaw itinerary (E.G. MEL - AKL / WLG - MEL). Surely they could quite easily allow the multi-city system to work for a minimum of 2 flights instead of 3? VA are just as bad in this area...

Perhaps contact the IT division on the sub continent.
Wasn't QF IT outsourced some time ago? :-|

Umm, you can. Just make sure there is nothing in the 'from' and 'to' fields of flight 3.

I had problems this morning too when trying to do seat selection from MBB. Looks like it is back to normal now though.

I had problems trying to price LAX-MEL this morning. No flights found apparently.

I'm able to login, and I have no discernible issues with general navigation, but I have noticed that for the last couple of QF bookings I have had, that I no longer get the next flight segment showing for a particular booking in the 'Your Bookings' page, I only get the word "Booking". I can't recall precisely when it happened, but I think in November? Not a major issue, particularly as I am in a quieter period of flying through January... but when there are multiple bookings in there and I can't recall specific departure dates, it will be an irritation. Is it only me? I did a quick search (not extensively!) but couldn't see others with the same issue...

Cheers.

The individual links to arrival and departure information have been removed from the main menu bar but the tool is still there:
