I booked the lowest priced room, and was given it for free when I put in a best rate guarantee claim, on checkin as a Platinum I was offered club access for 50 AED which is shy of $20, which I took up, room allocated was a 7th floor club king.

Thanks for posting markis10.

Where did you get/see the better rate?

The pool area is very nice, its shared with the staybridge suites guests who are in an adjacent hotel.

We stayed at the Radisson Blu Yas Island, very similar standard to the Crowne Plaza in appearance, I much prefer Abu Dhabi than Dubai and Yas Island has a few attractions with the Ferrari World, golf course, a quiet Yas beach and water park. We just did a couple of day trips to Dubai, we were booked at the Radisson in Sharjah but canceled once we saw the location and went back to Yas Island.
The management in the Middle East can be a little racists and sexist but we found the Asian staff to be wonderful, friendly, helpful and were genuinely interested in our lives, that is, when the management was not around.

I was only there for the Sunday and Monday nights, and did not realise everything closed on Yas on Mondays. As a result I moved to the Hilton and was very glad I did.

All of the hotels are very similar inside, just with different company branding and the obvious service differences. We've stayed at the Crowne Plaza a few times, both during long stopovers (really easy to get to by taxi from airport, very cheap) and when we lived in Muscat would drive up to see friends in Abu Dhabi and take the kids to Ferrari World.
