Darwin 3 nights - a Deici (Apartment 1004) located at 5 Gardiner Street Darwin City
This was a new apartment that offered excellent comfort for 2 couples in the 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment. We booked through darwinholidayapartments. We had access to secure undercover parking but did not end up hiring a vehicle so we did not use this feature. We had email correspondence with Paul the arrivals manager prior to us leaving home and then phone calls on the day of our arrival in Darwin. As arranged, Paul was there to meet us and introduced us to the accessing of the building and also our specific apartment. The location was ideal for us. We were able to walk to shopping, sightseeing, restaurants and bars yet we were away from the noise & crowding that we saw on Mitchell St.

On level 10 we note there is a reasonable size swimming pool & a good size, clean BBQ in the common area. There are views to the north & the east from this area.
We were greeted to a near new apartment, air conditioned throughout & presented as on the net. There are 2 good size bedrooms, both with comfortable queen size beds with plenty of storage and good linen. One bedroom has an ensuite & the main bathroom shares space with a washer & drier-both bathrooms are rather cramped with narrow sinks but these are about the only shortcomings of the apartment. Each bedroom also got a well presented bag of toiletries. The kitchen was fantastic-top quality crockery & cutlery (enough for 8 people), good cookware, full size fridge (complimentary $20 odd bottle of sparkling included), full size oven & cook top and microwave. There was also a netspresso machine & plenty of capsules-Paul made a cup so we knew how to drive the machine.

There was a comfortable dining table, a couple of lounges, TV with dvd player, a quality ipod dock & a wi-fi dongle (1gb free for our 3 nights).

The balcony afforded great views of the sunsets & views across the city to Mindil Beach & Fannie Bay. On the balcony there was a BBQ & a portable clothes drier.-small design fault here with one of the 3 apartment air conditioners having its external section mounted here & blowing hot air on anyone sitting at the comfortable outdoor setting-easily overcome, just turn off the air con.

We had a fantastic stay here & it was very economical for 2 couples-Darwin is an expensive spot to stay
