I was volunteered by serfty and straitman to run July's Yum Cha, so OK, I'll give it a go.
It seems to me that there is always a lot of procrastinating as to the venue so I've chosen one straight up.
Shanghai Dynasty was suggested by boomy a couple of months ago, I think, and it is a restaurant I haven't been to as yet but meaning to try out. What better time, eh?

Proposed dates: Sun 20th
Sitting times: 1:15pm - 3:00pm

The proposed date should give people plenty of time to organise themselves (perhaps not penegal :) )

The restaurant is free for the suggested dates and times at present so the sooner we confirm the better.

Thanks for doing this ... I am most definitely out on the 20th ...

The 27th is fine for me and the latter time is more opportune.

Goodonya for organising the yum cha ;)
The 20th looks ok for me at this stage.
Can't make it on the 27th, already have something planned on that day.

The 27th clashes with the AFF ski weekend, although I am likely to be further afield at that time.

The 20th might work...

With that, it looks like the 20th ....

Enjoy! - I'll look to August ...

Just make an executive decision :p Democracy only works some of the time.

OK. As suggested I'm making an undemocratic executive decision.

Date of July Yum Cha is Sunday 20th July 2014
Sitting Time: 1:15 pm

My interpretation of attendees thus far is recorded in post #1

Sorry to say at this stage I'm a bronze for this event..... I will do my best to change that status to a better colour closer to the date :)

I can't think of any reasons I can't make this, so would like to try and make it.

You are learning quick. Take the initiative and make an executive decision like you have done and people will follow.

Free food? My favourite kind of food. Shame I have to say I am copper at this stage.

Is this venue BYO due to the later hour of the booking and is anyone interested to partake?

I just gave them a call and was told that you can BYO wine only (no beer).
However there is a $10 per bottle corkage charge

That's the most expensive corkage charge I've ever come across. They are really trying to promote their own wines I guess.
