A new year do you have any 2013 travel resolutions.

Discussions from other forums that I visit reminded me that we should have an AFF 2013 version.

1. Fly on the 787, yeah I had that last year as well, although I did get to fly on a Fokker70.
2. Finish a few trip reports.
3. Go to Perth.

If this thread had been started 1 week ago I would have included a visit to country Victoria but I did that a few days ago but I got there before the new year started so I guess it doesn't count.
This year I don't expect to requalify Qantas Platinum, so I won't include it as a goal unless Qantas are generous in offering me a double status credit offer.

So what are your new years travel resolutions.

This is the 2012 AFF version.

Well done Bundy for probing this one..

Sure.. I certainly have many, none of which have come to fruition yet..
.
1. Make more of a concerted effort to finish TRs.
2. Get to Jamaica & try out the (cool runnings) Luge run.
3. Enjoy the ski powder runs in Japan.
4. Sample & survive some more whitewater rafting adventures.
5. Venture to Harbin for the Ice Festival
6. Endeavour to enjoy airports & flying which have become very lacklustre of late.
7. Try to be more tolerant about of indifferences in fellow passengers.

I remain optimistic..

Cheers

I'm not sure about ambitious resolutions for travel - I'm sure I'll have a list made up somewhere - but I have at least one non-travel related resolution, but also one somewhat travel related resolution:

1. Move out of home.

Not sure really. Thinking about 3 self funded os trips this year and whatever work throws up, which is more domestic these days.

I haven't finished planning for this year's travel but my only resolution so far is...

To continue turning left for International long haul :)

I'll take that one step further and say my resolution is to fly more premium cabins in general! :)

Move from QF Gold to WP, some J status runs are in order :)

1. Staying at the QT Gold Coast in a spa suite late Jan for our anniversary.
2. Weekend in AKL to experience the EK A380 - June.
3. Greece, Turkey and Shanghai on EY/VA/VS in J.

Hmmmmm not enough - need more plans ;)

Already achieved mine. Booked First Class with points to spend Christmas and New Year 2013 with my son who is living in the French Alps!! Now just have to accumulate more points in the coming year to replace those used.

1. Accept the fact that travel insurers are too risk averse to cover me for all risks.
2. Stay liquid enough that it doesn't matter.

That was my plan for this year, but it seems the parent has decided to move out and leave me in the house. No complaints!

Travel? I'd be happy to get on a plane going somewhere. I've got Hawaii in sight but we'll see...

2013 means visiting the last continent-Africa.cruise up the west African coast, safari in Botswana,Zambia.
Also visiting Iceland and cruising from there to Churchill to see the Beluga whales and hopefully walrus which we missed seeing in Svaarlbaad.Seeing one of the stops is Walrus Island we may be in luck.

Using points.JASAs SYD-JNB-SYD.Also Aawards NRT-BOS and DFW-NRT.

Continuing working so I can fund these trips.

Finally continuing random acts of kindness.

Haha nice. Im moving back in whilst I build my development.

My travel resolution is to have an awesome holiday with my brother in the US where he lives (and I haven't seen him in >1yr).

Nothing too exciting here (cf to 2012) but in 2013 have travel booked to:
1) Melbourne for Australian Open Men's tennis final
2) Lord Howe Island in February
3) Tokyo at Easter
4) KL in April
5) Perth for Ozfest 10 in May
6) Seoul in June / July
7) Athens and Greek Islands in October

Will probably need to do a status run to retain QF WP....but will wait and see if I get offered a double status promo before I book anything :)

1) be a better partner, son and friend
2) enjoy my TG J trip to Europe - Russia, Austria and Poland in June
3) redeem my US Dividend Miles points for 2 J fares with Air NZ direct to Cook Islands (being the optimist I am, I've already booked a villa there in September :))
4) get the remaining 60K QF FF points to redeem on two J RTW fares for me and partner - ASAP

Given the birth of Edison junior, I would be happy to just travel internationally this year, and hopefully try QF F lounge using my BA Gold card.

Now I need to work out how easy it is to travel with infant. No idea about their needs on travel yet.
