Anyone have a Roomba and recommend it?

My impression on AFF is people buy generally buy top of the line appliances for home?Frankly when it comes to vacuums, unless it is a Dyson I wouldn't even consider it.

I bought a $70 vacuum cleaner from Big W (think that was the cheapest I could buy) and it appears to work quite well.
Why would I need a Dyson? Does a better job? Lasts longer? Or conversation piece?
Frankly when it comes to vacuums, unless it is a Dyson I wouldn't even consider it.

Tested a Dyson versus Miele for pet hair and the Miele coughped all over the Dyson. They're a lot of hype...
I want a robot vacuum to keep on top of the hair etc so I dont have to vacuum myself so often. Dyson wont help me with that.
The dyson picks up our cat hair ok.
Given the small size of a robot vacuum, meaning limited size of motors, brushes and nozzles, I would think it will be disappointing if a full size vacuum is no good.
I want a robot vacc in addition to my Miele. I dont like pulling out the full vacuum every day to deal with balls of dog hair and stray cat litter. The idea is the robot keeps on top of things so that when I do use the full vacuum, the effort is less (and I dont constantly end up with cat litter tracked down the hallway). I love my Miele and will be keeping it. We did a side by side with Dyson at the time of purchase and the Dyson did bugger all to remove the hair (jack russell hair is stubborn); the Miele Pet Vac gets it all.

I use my Dyson hand held every day on the ground floor floorboards. In fact it's so good I rarely get out the full size cleaner. Takes two minutes and all traces of the Lab are gone (except for him following me around everywhere as he hates to be alone)
I bought a Dyson stick vacuum and is my only vacuum cleaner. The 35 yo Hoover has gone to a better place.
Just don't let him near the QP with that footwear.
I have had Dysons and prefer our Miele
