i would put mount pleasant over brokenwood , older vinyards and much better wine. too much people knows about tyrrells now, use to be $60 a bottle for the sacred site wines, now all allocation is taken up by existing members.

According to Chris Tyrrell on Winefront recently:

Currently 8 Acres is available to everyone to add to their standing order as it is a new product. it won’t run out before release though, so there is no rush with that one if you want to wait and taste at the release tastings.
Old Patch is fully allocated.

4 Acres and Johnno’s – due to an IT double up last year (long story), both have a small amount available to add to standing orders which we will be releasing in the coming weeks as the standing order letters go out. We will go the 4 Acres waiting list etc first then whatever is left will be open.

Not sure how I missed this. One of the best wines I've ever had. Can pick it up in the auction lottery for under $400 usually though.

Haven't had mine yet - still in the cellar with the 920 and Grange, though I think that the Grange is 1991 (however I do have a 1990 Hill of Grace)


cellardoor.co now also have magnums of 1991 Wynns Centenary Shiraz Cab for $400, perhaps considered their best wine ever alongside the first John Riddoch, 1982, both of which I've had - more tempting

Last winter I cracked my 920 while a friend opened his 90a. Both cracking wines and drinking really well now. Probably bottle variation, but the 920 I'd suggest drinking now and over the next couple of years, while the 90a had more left in the tank still.

beeformer best restaurant without blinking is Barbacoa - 2008 Meshach for ~$130 is fab value for Bali wine prices - food is spectacular too

BOYnCOW is also spectacular - food particularly - ambience incredible - wine overpriced but hey 2 out of 3 ain’t bad.

Not sure if this belongs here but at least everyone will see it.
I am looking at another wine fridge .
The little Asian model has died again and it's time for something better.
New fridges seem grossly overpriced and I am looking at s/h with an expectation of a repair sometime.
I have seen a few Vintecs needing repair and wonder about the real -v- perceived quality
My question is : How long have your fridges lasted and what brands do y'all have ?

I have been waiting for yonks for a decent Vintec offer but they have been almost non existent of recent times

I had a small TWE promotion Vintec (40 bottle?) - lasted about a year over warranty, cost to fix was more than a replacement unit. I have a 120 bottle vintec also from a TWE promotion - still going, and I have 2 x Liebherr's that seem far better quality than Vintec. I only have experience with these 4 units so a minute sample size, but I will avoid Vintec in the future. I like the solid door models, but I don't have mine out on display

I've got a liebherr one, it died just under 3 years - their customer service is exceptional, but they had to replace the part 3 times...it cools fine, but every now and then the light fridge flashes when the compressor turns on. They were happy to keep sending out techs to replace the part, but I can't be bothered and just lived with it now...Would I go liebherr again, prob yes due to their customer service.
