Wine lovers musings, amusings and news

Wow - interesting - I always thought that Vintec would be the bees knees

I was musing the other day about wine storage alternatives, and thought if I were to build a new home , I would almost certainly incorporate a wine storage room, possibly even something like the Elderton wine room visited on one of Buzz’s wine tours. That said I’m just has happy with something less conspicuous if price becomes an issue.

About 20 years ago when we were looking to buy a house in ADL, we looked at one with a massive underground cellar and tasting room. Maybe we should have bought that house.

When buying a house in Burgundy, one relative's only requirement was a Cellar, with some kind of house above it.

In my mind (dreams) , I have constructed a little business building wine cellars in existing houses.
It all seems pretty simple and easy to do , but there is no escaping the costs involved.

Im confused as to why you didn't ! That said the extra space for cars and Bikes (in your current abode) may have made a difference

Your mission is to come up with a less expensive alternative ! :)

My concept requires a lot of tooling up , and the challenge would be to presell a hundred or so packages and then fabricate and install.
I'm over that kind of stress…..

I have never seen RWT labels with BIN 798 on them before? I checked 10s and 12s at home in my cellar and not listed on them - do I need get out more?

Penfolds are going to rename it to 798, fair to say the days of it being a trial wine are over. I thought they started this with the 2015, but obviously not. Technically Grange is Bin 95, maybe one day it will be renamed too.

Its from 2014, they have it named on the brochure during the tasting. that price thought.....

I'm seeing an account suspended message.

Looks like they forgot to renew their domain name.
It's more than that, they have removed all accounts and social media accounts, not answering emails or phone calls. The parent site for Nelson Wholesalers also seems to be mostly non-functional.

Out of business I would guess.
I have a friend whose last order was never completed, I think he's trying to get money back from hs CC company.

Just SMSed Tom - FWIW he advised site going through major upgrade and will be back up in few days - time will tell

McWilliams in administration...

Look out for some cheapies.

You may remember the Maccas sale last year that we were alerted. I picked up some 842 Tumbarumba kardannay thanks kim for a twenty and it is magnificent indeed. More to come surely.

Advice on securing some quality clean skins pls kids - CS or SH only - must be under cork - JD Cellars best place to head? Any other suggestions?
