Recently we all got emails from Qantas advising us of changes (if we had Australian addresses). At the start of those emails were a few paragraphs with the usual pleasantries, and then slightly different words for different tiered members. I’ve got to wondering what each tier was told.

I know the email went out to all 5 tiers as there are 5 different possible headers.

I don’t think QP/paid access had any bearing on this, and I certainly can’t find a QP header, but think this was primarily about status.

So if different status members could post what they received, I’d just like to compare the differences in what was said.

I’ll start off…

change.

What QF status level are you?

Wrong. Fail.

No email here. Suggestions over on FT that overseas members did not get the email, which is my experience.

Ahh, I did not know, though I guess their primary reason for the email was more NGCI spin which is domestic only, so it makes sense to only go to Australian residents ;)

I’m just trying to compare the different things they said to each member/tier, and suspect I wont get a CL to paste his email, but would be very interested, as I know the email went to them.

QF Platinum with another 150 to 2100

]So if different status members could post what they received, I’d just like to compare the differences in what was said.

As a WP with about 1,800 SCs, here's a full copy of what I received:
http://snaps.se.id.au/1/20101007-qfwpemail.png

Note that it's one big image as I couldn't be bothered copying it all and removing the links, so I only removed my FF details and address :)

Well heres what a QP with no status got.

Interesting that a QP with no status gets almost the same, word for word message, as a WP.

I was hoping they differences would be a bit more pronounced to the different tiers. Still curious to a CL email, if any lurkers would care to share :p

Yeah, of course NGCI is such a huge benefit that it makes up for all the other changes. ;) It is pretty disappointing that they don't even have the dignity to send an email to non Australian residents.

From the discussion I had today with a CL - they hadnt seen any email from QF in the last week or so (on blackberry). Not aware of any changes to CL privileges.

I've asked for desktop email to be re-checked but that may not happen for a day or two.

Will post here if I get any further info.

I’m not going to argue there, seems your beef is with Qantas and further discussion here would only spark the flames.

Although, CL is (for all intents and purposes) in the same basket as WP. That being said maybe they'll continue to offer anytime access to CL..... if I can get a hold of my uncle (very hard to do so, especially now I'm nowhere near him!) I'll see if he received any communications.

er -i think that was the whole point of the overhall wasnt it? .. Collapse them all into either essentially "nothing" (bronze/silver ... + free tags for silver to check themselves in cf bronze who'll need to buy them) or "elite" (gold/platinum ... + j luggage allowance/lounge when plats fly as a QFF)

rightly (perhaps if u're management POV) or wrongly (perhaps if u're consumer POV), it's just about streamlining/rationalizing ... what all businesses do ... n minimizing differentiation helps as they prob figure plats are going to be (a) flying with them anyway (ie, locked or predictable pattern/routine/habit/corp policy) and/or (b) already booked into J if they hit that tier anyway, so why offer additional perks, esp when key point if diff needs to be those at gold who prob are having to make a decision about who to fly with (particularly benefits if only in lots of Y) - hence freeing up their priority lines/lounges.

Yes NGCI is such a great benefit it will change everyone's flying experience. What a waste of time and focus.

That does sound disappointing. So all overseas Platinum members still believe they have anytime access to Qantas Lounges and Qantas International Lounges.

I'm surprised at everyone's objection to NGCI, I understand with Air NZ it was very well received. I guess in due course...
