Domestic Seat Selection at T-80 now includes exit rows

I've seen this a couple of times now.

Then a few hours later one seat would open up (which I promptly grab). The rest seem to stay blocked.

re: Domestic & most International Routes Seat Selection now includes exit rows

In my case they were all available :D.

re: Domestic & most International Routes Seat Selection now includes exit rows

Ooh, this is great.

Does anyone know if QF will give me this option if there is a NB pax on my booking? Have some MEL-CBR flights coming up soon with SWMBO.

re: Domestic & most International Routes Seat Selection now includes exit rows

Agree this is good. Assume just WPs (I presume you are from seat map). Also good to get Row 4 at T-80. I often only get that option at T-24 on SYD-MEL peak times.

re: Domestic & most International Routes Seat Selection now includes exit rows

Just changed to exit row 13 (737-800) for our longish domestic flight Syd-Drw for Ozfest in May. Thanks Mark for the heads up:)....so looks like you don't have to wait for T-80.

I had not even thought to check other bookings - thank you!

Have changed the title to reflect its not just a t-80 thing! now we just need to find out if its a WP only thing.

As an SG I can do it on my 737 and 767 flights that are in the system (ozFest flights).

Also appears International J able to be selected.

Able to select 24B on an upcoming SYD-SIN A380, however will stay in front cabin 11K - other three seats are greyed out.
Sadly row 16 still greyed out on the return SIN-SYD B747

Well that just ruins it.

Awesome. This in an enhancement I can definitely get on board with.

Side note: Answered my own question. Was able to get myself (WP) & SWMBO (NB) into exit rows (11A,11B on a 737-400) for flights almost 2 months away.

re: Domestic & most International Routes Seat Selection now includes exit rows

Yep I'm seeing that.

Also in the "my booking" page when I hover over my seat selection I see a message:

"16K This exit row seat request is for Mr Tony Hancock"

I wonder if there are any changes to international economy?

You can't select exit rows trans-tasman.

I don't know if I want to say what happens on international long haul in case it's a mistake and is "enhanced" back to normal :D

re: Domestic & most International Routes Seat Selection now includes exit rows

Yup, just got 2 exit rows Adl/Mel/Adl. Was not there yesterday (24 hours ago). Adl/Mel is 31 March. Mel/Adl is 15 April, so way in the future but I was still able to grab an exit row seat for BOTH fights. Something has changed for the better.

Well done Qantas. Thanks for listening.

Re: Exit row/premium seating - Oneworld airlines

Slightly o/t question for you (but still to do with exit rows)...

A few years ago a rep at the QFF Call Centre advised me that once you hit WP, they are able to do a "physical assessment" (ie. you go somewhere and they look at you) and then put a permanent exit row allocation in your profile (for domestic of course, seeing you need to pay for international). Does this still exist? (I've just hit WP and if there is any way to do this it would be good, seeing as I'm 6'3").

I'm 6'3"as well. Is this true? I'm WP. Who do I need to talk to?

BTW it now seems WPs and SGs can pre book domestic exit row seats. I just did so for Adl/Mel/Adl flight in mid April

re: Domestic & most International Routes Seat Selection now includes exit rows

This is great news. I just did this for my SYD-BKK-SYD flights even taking a window seat now as well. I might actually consider withdrawing my F upgrade request because of this...

re: Domestic & most International Routes Seat Selection now includes exit rows

So... can anyone else select exit rows on international flights without paying?...

Or should I change back (I originally had PE seating on a Y fare anyway and moved to PE exit row) just in case :D

Edit: I guess simon can :)

re: Domestic & most International Routes Seat Selection now includes exit rows

Just saw this on the QF website:

* There is a limited selection of Exit Row Seats available on domestic flights at no charge. Exit Row Seats are not available on flights operated by Boeing 737-400 or 737-800 aircraft.

It's down the bottom of the page at this link:

Qantas Seat Selection

Looks like this was updated on 30 March according to the Terms and Conditions on the web page.

Strangely, I just selected exit rows on 2 flights operated by 737-800 aircraft despite the above saying it is not possible...I suspect a glitch...

Am I right in saying that at the moment we know that WP and SG can select domestic exit row seats and WP's can select, online, international J exit row seats.

Any PS's or NB's had any luck?
