First post - hope it's of interest.
I am a first year QFSG. Travelled ADL-SYD-CGK over the Christmas break. Booked return Y class tickets for the family (2 adults, 2 children). My wife's ticket booked using QFNB Points (family transfer) through to CGK (via MEL to SYD) as this was all that was available at the time, together with one paid child ticket. My paid adult ticket was direct to SYD with the second paid child ticket. All paid tickets were red-e-deal. Plan was to meet in SYD, then onto CGK together.
At check-in, we were advised that we were all on the same direct ADL-SYD flight, and we had all received Business Class SYD-CGK upgrades. On our return flight, the same - CGK-SYD Business Class upgrades for 2 adults and 2 children. The unusual thing seemed to be that one of the upgrades was on a QFNB points ticket. The reason given..... it's Christmas. Wondering if anyone else has experienced this generousity, or something similar?
