Should be fine.

I had the same thing happen to me on a flight LHR-SIN and I had First lounge access in SIN :)

Re: Gaining Platinum mid DONE4 trip.....will I still be able to access "First" lounge

I believe the BA lounge staff have the ability to look your status up. So should you encounter issues when they scan your boarding pass, just politely explain your situation and they should look you up to confirm it.

Thanks for quick replies, I had heard mixed stories, but that is probably more to do with the person on the door at the time!!!

Re: Gaining Platinum mid DONE4 trip.....will I still be able to access "First" lounge

I will have 4 days in London for the SC's to be processed.

Depending on who you are flying with, and how long those SCs are actually processed/deposited, otherwise if it doesn't happen in four days you might be out of luck as your account will still show SG/OWS.

Off the top of my head, partner flights can take up to 14 days for SC/ffp to be processed?

I was in the same position when I first achieved QF Plat during an AONE4 in 2002. Had flown LHR/JFK on BA (Concorde) then a couple of days later JFK/LAX/DFW/LAS on AA. By the time I got to DFW I checked my QF account and my account was showing Plat, so I printed out the my Summary Page.

With 4 days you should be okay, if everything lines up normally

I just realized it will almost be 6 days and BA usually process within 2 to 3 days.

Doing MEL-LHR-PRG-LHR-GVA-LHR-BOS-JFK-ORD-LVS-LAX-MEL on J

Should hit Platinum on the LHR-GVA leg!! Booked an extra Europe stop to add the necessary points so I could fly out of T5 to Boston as a Platinum!!

Or 24 hours. BA are usually very quick at processing. I flew BA yesterday and the points and SCs are showing in my account.

Out of interest. What benefit were you after that COS didn't offer?

Isn't it in the states that flying F does not give you access to the F lounge and only Emerald status does... Could be mistaken though...

Correct - if on a purely North American itinerary.

AA EXP has the same restriction.

Looks like Chicago (ORD) will be my only chance to try the flagship lounge!

Re: Gaining Platinum mid DONE4 trip.....will I still be able to access "First" lounge

As this is a DONE4 it isn't a purely North American itinerary.
Well I will be well and truly WP by the time I hit ORD, and traveling F, so all bases covered?

Next year, having slipped to NB status, I'm planning a YUPP trip through the USA having flown over JQ (probably) to HNL.
Will YUPP fares in F class allow AA lounge access for those domestic legs?
No ... the only lounge access for domestic travel without status requires the passenger to be on full fare or award business/first class travel on selected three class flights.
