Today, Qantas celebrates 91 years of flying and it is our pleasure to offer our most loyal members bonus Qantas Frequent Flyer points.

From 16 November 2011 until 23 December 2011 Platinum members receive a 100% bonus, Gold members receive a 50% bonus, Silver and selected Bronze members receive a 25% bonus Frequent Flyer points for all Qantas flights (with a QF flight number on your ticket). This is for existing and new bookings and over and above the total points you normally earn.

In addition, if you were directly impacted by industrial action you will be offered a unique Qantas gift or experience, such as complimentary membership to epiQure by Qantas Frequent Flyer – the online food and wine community, a Qantas’ First Lounge or Qantas Club invitation, a voucher for Qantas Valet or Qantas Drive, or a complimentary Q Bag Tag, depending on your tier status.

Emails will be sent shortly to members with full details, terms and conditions.

Any questions just let me know via this thread or via PM.

Hi Red Roo,

Thanks for the information. I think this offer is well thought out, and is reasonable and commercially wise from QF's point of view. The existing and new bookings makes it fair for all.

However I am sure there will be many who say - so what.

Sorry Red Roo, but that is not a very compelling offer. First, it misses all WOAG flyers, who don't earn miles on their bookings.

Second, it doesn't encourage people to return to QF who moved their business due to the (then) ongoing industrial action.

Out of curiosity (and pending gain from flights next week LOL), is the bonus on the base amount or on the total amount after status bonus/cabin bonus?

What's WOAG?

I'm assuming it's government fares that don't accrue points?

So.... You're complaining about not getting anything free, on a fare that you don't pay for in the first place??

Maybe I misinterpreted.

Red Roo - thanks for the offer, seems fair and I'm grateful.

Hi Markis10,

The bonus is after status/cabin bonus are applied. So as a Platinum you would earn double the number of total points you would normally earn.

Cheers,
Red Roo

Now that is a bonus, thank you for the prompt response!

Interesting offer. I look forward to seeing the details

not to mention before or after the application of the minimum points guarantee?

Is there a choice on the gift, or is it whatever your tier dictates?

WoW!

Shame my DFW journey was at the end of last month, not at the end of this ...

Hi oz_mark,

It is after the application of the minimum points guarantee and gift is based on tier.

Being a bit impatient, a couple of questions.

I presume there will be a distinction between QP PS, QP NB and plain PS or NB (for QP invitations, as they may be of value to plain PS or NB, but a bit redundant for QP members).

Which tier will the gift be based on - current or as at the disruption (as the other half was QP PS but dropped to QP NB on 31/10 - and was impacted as we were flying over that weekend).

WOAG (Whole of Australian Government) are government fares, and it doesn't impact me as I do self-fund.

But why does it make any difference who pays for the fare? Most WPs I would imagine have their travel paid for by their employer.

As I work in Canberra, I'm familiar with the CWT WOAG fares. Even with BFOD, people have a choice, as the fares are quite similar between DJ and QF. So this seems to miss the people who elect to choose QF over DJ, despite the industrial grief of the past couple of months.

RedRoo, you've just made my day. Next week fly our to LA and then before the cutoff in December have a SIN-PER_MEL-SYD run - so excellent news!

That's pretty good, get additional points for my flight next week... :D
Pity this bonus points offer wasn't there this time last year otherwise I'd have a transpac's worth of points to bonus... (I just remember I flew on QF's birthday last year, not a bad choice of date to do a transpac, the flight was certainly a happy one)
