Qantas thanks its most loyal customers

Will bronze qantas club members be in the " selected" bronze members to benefit from 25% bonus points!

That should complement the million points I'm going to win by taking my 3rd Dec YASAs nicely ;)

A very broad, sweeping over-generalisation - this WP has gained and then maintained his status by self-funded travel only - not even tax deducatable.

Hence why I said "most" and "I imagine", rather than all. And well done, I certainly couldn't maintain WP if I wasn't flying for work.

This is double total points, so a WP who normally earns 1718 QFF points in economy for MEL-BNE would earn 3436 instead. (For Business 2148/4296)

MEL-SYD 2000 in whY and 2500 in business.

The aforementioned MEL/DFW trip did earn 36½K points - 73K would have been nice!

Great timing. Was just about to book a few November DJ flights (before new QFF year comes in 1 Dec)..... will now have about 15 QF sectors in that time frame and whilst all domestic, still appreciated.
:)

Thanks Red Roo

Likewise for this soon to be WP, all self funded non deductible (unless I can claim it as work related stress relief )

Today, Qantas celebrates 91 years of flying and it is our pleasure to offer our most loyal members bonus Qantas Frequent Flyer points.

From 16 November 2011 until 23 December 2011 Platinum members receive a 100% bonus, Gold members receive a 50% bonus, Silver and selected Bronze members receive a 25% bonus Frequent Flyer points for all Qantas flights (with a QF flight number on your ticket). This is for existing and new bookings and over and above the total points you normally earn.

Happy birthday Qantas. Is an impressive offer. Luckily I have 12+ flights during that period that should be eligible.

Is the 16 November exclusive or inclusive in the date range? For example I have a Qantas flight at 6pm today will it be eligible?

Happy Birthday Qantas. Thanks for sharing the love!!

BTW I have an opinion about the WOAG question. It starts with the government have negotiated a saving by not earning points. I leave it to everyone else to work out the next bit, because I don't want to bring the mood down. Suggest others consider that....

Sent from my iPhone using Aust Freq Fly app so please excuse the lack of links.

It wasn't that long ago that Qantas claimed "90 years of continuous flying", I 'spose it can't use that word anymore. :(

Jetstar and QantasLink are still part of Qantas and they were still flying :mrgreen:

Shame my DFW journey was at the end of last month, not at the end of this ...
Yep, I have booked 2 trips to Asia with QF since the industrial action. I think I'd consider that "loyalty".

Unfortunately they are both next year so I miss out on this offer.

Hmmm.... no mention of status credits. I would have preferred to have seen double credits like the recent VA offer which will put me into Platinum by December.

Happy that it applies to existing bookings as I have a number in December . Would also be a BIG bonus if JQ was on the list as well as I have a return *class CNS NRT .

Bit of a bummer I was not affected by the shutdown as I decided on the Friday before to take the Monday and Tuesday off for the cup ... Normally would have been on SYD-BNE .

Small question ... I will be going from Silver to Gold in the next few weeks. So does the bonus level apply to what status you were at the time of the disruption or the the status you are when you fly ?

Excellent timing! This year, I had to postpone my usual October/November trip (which would likely have been affected by the grounding) until December, which lands me nicely in the bonus period.

WOAG (Whole of Australian Government) are government fares, and it doesn't impact me as I do self-fund.

But why does it make any difference who pays for the fare? Most WPs I would imagine have their travel paid for by their employer.

As I work in Canberra, I'm familiar with the CWT WOAG fares. Even with BFOD, people have a choice, as the fares are quite similar between DJ and QF. So this seems to miss the people who elect to choose QF over DJ, despite the industrial grief of the past couple of months.

Hi greenfish,

Understand your concern here but the decision to not award points to WOAG's for travel was not made by Qantas. This was a government decision. If we could we would.

Cheers,
Red Roo

Your flight today will earn the bonus points. :D

WoW!

Shame my DFW journey was at the end of last month, not at the end of this ...

Quite handy my MEL-xSYD-xDFW-CMH-xDFW-xBNE-MEL journey starts today, followed by a MEL-LHR-MEL in November/December. :)

....and double SC's on my PER-MEL flight next week with DJ/VA. 35k MR points for using Amex to book my VA trip to LHR in March too!

Don't you just love competition.

I do feel a fraud taking the offer though. (Of course it won't stop me I am baking dish shallow after all.:p) I don't fit the criteria really as I am no longer a loyal QF customer, DJ/VA is now getting a good share of my new bookings.

I shouldn't be cynical, but what the hell......presumably we will be seeing an increase in the points cost of rewards bookings shortly? :p:p

On an excellent note thank you QF for not using the term enhancement in the announcement!

All up I'm happy with this, so thanks QF. It won't however change my new policy of redirecting domestic and some international travel to DJ/VA.

Hi WilliamsF1,

Points bonus will be applied based on your tier at time of travel. So if you are Gold when you take your trip you will get 50% bonus points.

Cheers,
Red Roo

Actually my next QF flight is on Christmas day so I totally miss out on this offer. I only have JQ flights between now and then. :(

Red Roo, will WPs be getting an F lounge guest pass? I do have some upcoming flights which I'd like to have an extra F lounge guest if possible.

Would be quite nice offer for most people, especially aus fliers who already have their free flight too. I'm still waiting on details of the allegedly forthcoming compensation for those with international flights. And today I get to call QF customer service to try to figure out why all but one of my refunds have come through, even though they were all approved...

I don't have much reason to change my upcoming flights this month from virgin as they won't accrue many points, but good luck to those on transpac travel! :)
