Mrs GCC is flying with baby G and 3 YO SYD - SING ( 1 night layover) - LHR - GLA in mid June on BA in Y+.

Greta fare on WT+, but a pretty heavy trip going solo with the little G's and no lounge access. I'm meeting them in the UK so the return trip will be fine, but tossing up whether to pay for QC?

I'm a little confused with all the changes to BA lounge access, so apologies if its answered elsewhere but will QC give her lounge access at:

SYD (onward to SING on BA)
SING (onward to LHR on BA)
LHR (onward to GLA on BA)

Even if yes, is there a risk given what i read here about BA, that she'll be turned away as she has 2 "guests" - one 3 YO one 6 month old?

Any better options for one trip? Priority pass perhaps, or just pay for a lounge?

Qantas Club membership no longer entitles members to access BA Lounges after the dissolution of the JSA, so your money would be wasted in this case (AA lounges are still OK though).

Your only bet would be to find someone travelling that could guest you in.

I am facing a silimar problem - flying WT+ on BA to LHR in late May from BNE (BNE - SYD codeshare on QF).

I am working on the basis that I will have no access to any lounge through my QP membership (might get into BNE domestic as flying on QF metal)?

My understanding was "yes" as it's a QF lounge and you're on OW?

According to QF:

[h=2]Question[/h]
Do I need to be travelling with Qantas to access The Qantas Club lounge?
[h=2]Answer[/h]
Qantas Club members may access
The Qantas Club
or QantasLink lounge in the departure port when your next onward flight on that day is on a Qantas marketed flight. Your membership entitles you to one guest when you are travelling on a Qantas or Jetstar flight. Individual members may also purchase an
Annual Guest Card
, which allows one additional guest access to The Qantas Club.

So, no. Qantas Club Access is only on QF flights (or coded).

Really re entry in SYD and SIN ?? My reading of the website wouldn't suggest that, but then again I have never tried (and it seems to be the consensus view in the forum). I had always thought you had to be flying on a QF ticket (unless one of the listed exceptions such as AA).

That is certainly a bonus if it is true.

This is the bit on the Qantas Club website which concerns me:

"Qantas Club members and Partner members are welcome at The Qantas Club when your next onward flight that day is on a Qantas, Jetstar Airlines* or Emirates flight number. When flying domestically you may invite one guest."

No mention of oneworld flights.

Just found on the OW site under exceptions for lounge access that AA and Qantas offer programmes enabling customers to pay to gain access to their lounges. These are not part of the OW agreement, and members of these programmes are not entitled to access under the OW agreement...

Couldn't you access the QF lounge in SYD and SIN even if flying on BA?

Would be so if the OP (who is WP) was flying. But he's not. It's his wife and children - hence the need for QC membership.

To the OP - QC will get entry for your wife and kids in SYD and SIN (Qf, not BA lounge), but not in LHR for the trip to GLA. On the way back, you won't have access in GLA, but you should have access to the American Airlines Admirals Club in LHR terminal 3, and the QF lounge in SIN.

When I said you I meant the wife.

Also we dont think that access is available when flying OW rather than QF/JQ/EK.

That's Correct. Qantas Club occupies a space away from OneWorld. The AA lounge access is reciprocal by arrangement. There is no OW benefit for QC members (just SG and WP's).

As the OP's wife is flying BA, access will not be granted (must be QF Marketed).

Maybe we could go back and edit out some of the incorrect answers - I have done that with my first post.

Thanks for the info. Certainly not worth QP m'ship for this trip then.

On the return trip we are all flying BA and I am WP, don't we have access to the BA lounges in LHR T5 as a OW Emerald flying OW + guests?

You and one guest yes. Unfortunately BA tend to be sticklers for the rules, and your 3YO would count as a guest; it's only those under 2 that don't. You can always try your luck though!

[h=2]Access to oneworld airline lounges[/h]
As an additional benefit, Platinum and Gold Qantas Frequent Flyers (Emerald and Sapphire oneworld[SUP]®[/SUP] members) may also enter the lounges of our oneworld alliance partners## when travelling on eligible flights that are marketed and operated~ by a oneworld alliance airline. You may also invite one guest. Note that both you and your guest need to be travelling further that day on a oneworld marketed and operated~ flight^.
Qantas Club members with Bronze or Silver Frequent Flyer status are unable to access oneworld alliance airline lounges with the exception of the American Airlines[SUP]®[/SUP] lounges (Admirals Lounges only) which can be accessed as part of our partner airline agreement.
Search for a oneworld lounge.

You can always pay for access to one of the lounges in Singapore, although for me personally I would not bother, given how awesome Changi is.

I really must go to another airport - I just seen tired green/yellow carpet, kms of travelators and duty free shops - pretty much like any other airport. I transit there at night though.
