As mentioned in another thread we are all quick to complain yet rarely do we openly thank the Red Roo team for the work that they do helping people resolve issues, so here is a thread dedicated to praising the Red Roo team.

The Red Roo team have a hard job trying to satisfy everyone whilst maintain a corporate position and I'm sure may wonder sometimes why they bother.

Please keep this thread POSITIVE.

I would like to thank the team for helping to arrange transfers for my Mother In Law. Flying to Australia for the first time for her grand daughters wedding, and spoke no English. The team were extremely helpful and it all came off with out a hitch giving my MIL a positive stress free trip.

A positive QF thread, finally! Great idea Ansett!
I found RedRoo and the team to be very helpful when I needed them. If it was a matter of changing connecting flights in the last minute or helping to find a pair of headphones almost a week after they were lost. These are only a couple of recent examples and there are many more, so thanks RedRoo for everything.

Yes, this is a good idea to show the Red Roos that we do appreciate their efforts. I think the work they do behind the scenes for individual members is often forgotten about and under valued.

I have only had a few dealings with Red Roo via PM and they have always been helpful and managed to resolve the issue quickly.

My list:

Left my favourite jacket (read old) in F after a HKG-SYD flight last year. SYD airport luggage services were being less than helpful, especially considering that I was in the domestic business lounge watching the aircraft getting towed into the hanger area. I was certain the jacket was wrapped up in the bedding. Red Roo kindly put a request through the system to look for a jacket. Nothing more heard, not a big loss anyway as I got the exact same jacket as a replacement for about $60. It looks brand new and everything.

Red Roo reading all my 25 words or less submissions to go to lunch. I can barely stand writing them, let allow reading them. ;)

Red Roo introducing themselves at a Qantas lunch/coughtail party. Great to meet them.

Red Roo organising a bit of very special assistance with a family trip. Related to my usual gripe about travelling all year with no lounge guests and then taking that one family trip 1 or 2 people over allowance. That was especially helpful.

Red Roo putting up with my whinges.

I'd also like to add my thanks to Red Roo.

Even though I've not needed any personal intervention I absolutely appreciate the activity and participation here in such an open forum.

Awww...shucks! ***blush***

I'm truly humbled, and will share the kind and encouraging words with my team.

Thank you, and cheers to an ongoing positive relationship. :)

Red Roo, as a devout Qantas supporter, first let me express to you that I truly enjoy the good things I hear that you have achieved for so many people. I have never needed help myself, but it is fantastic knowing there is a real ear if I ever need to say something important.

Secondly, I understand it is a very demanding role, and one that suffers relentless attacks by some irrational QF-bashing people. If there is ever a particularly annoying member that is simply destroying your day, but due to professionalism you cannot give them the answer they truly deserve, then PM me and I will gladly take on that chore from my independent platform :)

BTW, this is my family love of Qantas: my youngest daughter just cut up some old pyjamas to get her favorite doll ready for a mid-year trip back to Australia........

I can concur with a number of the suggestions thus far.

To me, there are always highs and lows in any relationship and often a company representative is in an invidious position - lambasted if they can't move the immovable (rules, regs, T&C's etc) to suit people and often we only hear about the bad, rather than the good.

Over the several iterations of Red Roo with whom I have met, spoken and PM'ed, I have always found them to be as helpful as they could, within reason (and the rules).

To me, the current Red Roo showed their empathy and desire to go above and beyond with this thread:

Of course, others experiences may vary. Red Roo is an excellent resource and conduit for us to ask questions and through whom we receive answers - some of which we may like and others are not the answers we sought.

I am probably one of the fortunate ones to have regular contact (via telephone) over various AFF and other matters with Red Roo and the opportunity to invite them to AFF (and other) events. I have one in the pre-planning phase now ;)

When I was overseas in mid 2013 and my brother died Red Roo very kindly arranged access to the LAX and BNE Qantas Clubs/AA lounges for me and my sister as we flew back home which was much appreciated...

Oh that is priceless. Better suggest to my daughter :D ;)

Hope there are some pics of the doll on your flights back.

I think QF WP summed it up well vis-a-vis the mix of professionalism, corporate responsibility and empathy shown by the various incumbents of the Red Roo Role.

I'd just like to add an observation too that I just remembered... this was over the Christmas/NY break when RR had said they would be on leave, but guess what? They were posting and liking comments (most about the final 767 flight during that time, but elsewhere) when they were officially on leave for the new year. Heck, I think I saw something on either NYE or NYD itself. Now *I* call that dedication, but also I think it shows a personal interest that's more than just "the job" and the kind of people that do this off their own bat are rare in my view, and should be encouraged. I've seen late evening posts/likes (so they are there reading) and early morning and weekends... Yes, airlines are 24/7 operations, but presuming the current RR is but one hard working soul, that's a lot of effort to cover so much (and you can be sure that reading AFF is but one of the many tasks they have to do I bet!).

So please those that have issues with the QF message or policy... don't shoot the messenger.. it's not a personal choice in terms of corporate policy or decision making and I think this needs to be kept in perspective by some who want to give people a hard time for walking that very tight line that there must be in such a job as Red Roo has.. who I have not met, but may get the chance (?) at one of QF WP's events :)

Thank you Qantas for flying me from HKG-BKK-PER-ADL on Chinese New Year Eve in 1989, as I migrated (at young age) to a beautiful, lucky and blessed country called Australia. That flight was completely full and we managed to get final few seats (yes in Y). That was my first ever flight experience and whilst I was young, I would never forget it.

I have been living in this beautiful country since and there is no intention for me to leave.

CSR always had a hard job in their hands and it is great to see you in the forum answering questions and dealing with issues.

Clearly I think a pair of QF F PJ's needs to finds its way to a certain young lady for the effort :D

Great thread Ansett. I think it would be fair to say that the past year or so on here has been at times a very tough gig for Red Roo. Kudos for wearing it well. On a personal note I would like to thank Red Roo for ensuring that the Neil Perry Xmas Pudding found its way to the Shrek swamp after a little hiccup at the Epiqure Santa's elves workshop. Fortunately i haven't needed any more serious help and long may that continue :)

(And Juddles my mini-me is cutting up a pair of QF PJ's this afternoon to craft into a custom pair for her American Girl Doll after seeing that pic ;) )

I must agree with everyone here.. In fact my first post was to Red Roo and the team there has helped me a lot especially when I was about to fly on my own for the first time so kudos to Red Roo.. Thanks and your work is definitely much appreciated! :)

For me, this thread definitely came to mind as it epitomises the impact that Red Roo can have in such a situation.

Personally, Red Roo has been able to help me out with various enquiries and situations, and their input and assistance is always gratefully appreciated.
