can anybody advise as to whether there are business class flights between london & edinburgh. the last time we were there having booked business class with qantas (from Oz)using points london to edinburgh, qantas took business class (points)amount from account. when we arrived we were told there is no business class! had to fly economy and didn't give it another thought. to busy and middle of winter. we need to book more flights and when i went onto qantas award bookings business class was available london-edinburgh & return. we don't want to be charged business class points when there is no business class available.

British Airways offer business class fares on that route. Presumably, Qantas would be booking a BA flight.

jade,
You just need to look very carefully when the individual flights come up to confirm that each leg is in business class.

The QF rewards engine would throw out a
CBR-SYD-LAX fare charging business points but with only the domestic leg in business.

dont waste your points on such a short sector!

BA do not operate business class cabins on intra UK flights.

They do sell business class and "Fully Flexible" fares which gets one Club lounge access before the flight.

On most (if not all) LHR-EDi flights, BA sell business class fares but do not have a separate business class cabin. Their business class fares are offered for people who have connections or want lounge access and/or the extra luggage allowance. But the in-flight seat and service is the same for all.

So if this is part of a longer trip, you will be charged business class points for the entire journey even though only receiving an economy seat. But you do get the ground benefits of business class such as lounge access and additional baggage allowance. If you are just wanting to purchase the single sector of LHR-EDI, then you may like to consider just booking an economy ticket unless you want the ground benefits mentioned above.

thanks for your advice. points aren't the problem. we have 1.4mil. after our aust-uk flights. we arrive in london at 0540am and don't won't to be squashed in economy

regards
