Something weird happening to MrP in Hobart right now. QF cancelled and now Jetstar flight being chartered. Leaving just a 25 minute gap to transfer to Adelaide flight, or Qantas will be housing MrP for the night. And having to cancel business meetings for first thing tomorrow as he wont get home in time.

Apparently there is no engine issue. So wots up? :(

A simple 3 hour meeting in Hobart is turning into a 3 day marathon.

Your post doesn't explain the entire issue but i guess he was on QF1506 that has been cancelled and has been told that there is a technical problem?

QF1504 is delayed 5 hours (same aircraft as 1506) meaning 1506 had to be cancelled. So QF have put on a JQ aircraft.

Such is aviation. Annoying, but he will still get out of Hobart tonight, won't he?

He will get out of Hobart to Melbourne but has to get to Adelaide! The connection is tight. And that's the last flight tonight.

Thanks for the info re the flight before. They weren't told anything as to why it had been cancelled.

Any chance they'll hold the ADL flight for connecting pax? Or is it impossible due to curfew issues?

I hope they will hold the ADL flight. Curfew will be ok, but the last flight is at 7.15pm - we don't get a lot of evening service.

Waiting to hear if he made it.

Looks like it's on time. I laugh at the "relax in club lounge". He'll be a running. I reckon luggage won't make it.

I would think that they would hold the ADL flight if there are connections from Hobart.

I've been on flights where they have waited for passengers from late planes. I have also been in the situation where the flight was delayed and was to be 10 minutes after the next departure and was told I had to make my own arrangements for accommodation. This was a regional airport telling me this and I know better now!
Hope he makes it!

Too late now but always worth asking staff for very forward seating if possible to expedite de-planing on arrival.

You'd think they'd do that automatically wouldn't you but he said he's in row 24. So much for status and tight timing. At least he's been able to carry on his luggage.

There could be some issue between QF and JQ talking to eachother regarding connecting pax, I wouldn't hold my breath QF waiting for people on a JQ flight....

I think the Adelaide flight has already departed. He was never going to make it..maybe I'm reading it wrong?

Nope. Missed the flight. Damn thing is he's flying back to Adelaide tomorrow then back to Melbourne Wednesday.

Showing left gate at 7:18pm; 3 minutes late.

There is a Virgin flight at 7:40pm, but that is probably no good either.

Even Tiger had a flight that left at 5:20pm.

He landed at 7.35 so too late for anything. Thanks for waiting Qantas.
:(

That's disappointing Pushka.

He's traveling so much these next few weeks so an unplanned night is the straw. Not to mention basics like change of clothes  And a new client meeting cancelled. Hope they cover him for a decent meal and beverage and the hotel isn't a dive.

Not sure what QF do but had colleagues on VA who had to be put up overnight in BNE - the equivalent WP had the Sofitel and the NB had a 3 star close to the airport. As they were travelling together the WP gave up her hotel and went to the 3 star - anyway they were on a 6am flight the next morning. VA were rather bemused by the fact that she wanted to stay at the other hotel. Keep us in the loop.
Time for another drink!
