Sunshine Coast Restaurants.

For those of you who read my Trip Reports you may guess I love my food.From Street food in Bangkok to restaurants in the World's top 50.When I am home we have 3 restaurants that are our staples.
First-Stillwater
Japanese.
38 Duporth Ave,Maroochydore.
Nobu the Sushi master and Yuki front of house.
We always have the Salmon Sahimi.Mrsdrron loves the Sukiyaki.Myself the Waygu beef with Ponzu sauce.Often though we will share several of their entrees.
We have noticed Mr.Wakuda partake of their food.
Usual cost-$120 for 2 with a bottle of wine.
Amex and DC without surcharge.

Second-Cala Luna.
Italian.
4 Aerodrome Rd.,Maroochydore.
Osvaldo in the kitchen and the irrepressible Rita front of house.
Family Italian with flair.The Duck canneloni is a favourite.
Usual cost-$100-120 with wine for 2.
MC and Visa only.

Third-Bridge Seafoods.
209 Brisbane road,Mooloolaba.
Our Fish and chip shop.Dine by the Mooloolah river.Trawlers at the door.BYO.
Simple but fresh seafood.Snapper or Coral trout usually the pick but just ask Renee whats the freshest.
Usual cost $30 for 2.
MC and visa.

Where / how do you rate Spirit House? A little further away, but presumably worth the trip sporadically?

The in house restaurant at the Crowne Plaza was fantastic last time I was there, pity its in the middle of the burbs and you can get car sick from the roundabouts just getting there!

I'm afraid it is on my do not visit list.Went with a friend who is very allergic to seafood.Told them this.We didn't order any seafood.One dish we knew normally had fish sauce-we asked for it to be left out.When our friend had her anaphylactic reaction-Oh sorry I forgot to tell the chef.Inexcusable.
others do rave about it.I always enjoyed the food,mrsdrron less so as they would not tone down chilli for her.

Scratched my head over this and have various uninspiring memories. Could list various places I wouldn't bother again. However Lily's on the Lagoon at Twin Waters I recall was a positive experience.

However haven't been there for a few years.

The Ogres love Fratellini Sunshine Beach

Season - Hastings Street, Noosa, great spot for a long lunch on any sunny day.

Harvest - Coolum, very good food

Ba Vigo - Cotton tree...great spanish with a beaut wine list to go with it

Bauhinia - Mooloolaba, perfect for your Chinese hit

Back with some more.certainly support amaroo with the recomendation for Harvest at Coolum.Great food at decent prices.The entree scallops in a greek style pastry are great-ask if they are not on the menu.
Next is a newcomer at Dicky beach.Yume Japanese restaurant.Very small,BYO and if we take our wine usually~$50 for the food.
Run by a fellow from Osaka so you can dine on things like Okonomiyaki and octopus balls.But also the classics-sushi,sashimi,tempura etc.
Really need to book though as only a few tables and already popular with the locals

Recently tried the Boatshed at Cotton Tree. We enjoyed the food but would like to have had more seafood options. Fantastic location and not a bad wine list.

Agree the boatshed is a fantastic setting as is Cotteon Tree. The only thing missing from the BS is a decent chef......great sitting but mediocre food.

This time an upmarket casual eating house at Buderim-Hungry Feel.Main road near the Middy complex.
Had Sunday lunch there.I shared the brains with mrsdrron(the cooked variety before any wisecracks)then had Tea smoked duck salad.mrsdrron had the Pork belly(again).She finished with a creme brulee,I with the pannacotta.All was very good.Licensed.Limited regular wine list but usually about 20 special buys listed on the blackboard.
Most important for AFFers-accepts Amex,no surcharge and QFF or Myer one points.

Chris & Larissa, have just celebrated their 10 year anniversary - great pedigree, Larissa's parents developed the building that housed Pisces & Chris learnt his trade there as an apprentice.

Great service and a wicked finish of Chilli chocolate steamed buns.
The walk along the beach to the end of Seaview Terrace made the night complete

All add a +1 to this.
Spend (a wet) aussie day weekend at Dicky Beach and I'd also give yume a rap for lunch. Fresh sushi & sashimi made when you order for takeaway. Great to get a range which was quick consumed with family and ocean views.
Also on the family trait, go to the dicky beach surf club for their range of parmigianas. Great food, cheap drinks in a local atmosphere. On the downside, a few reheated dishes hit our table including the curry on the menu. I'd recommend the parma & the "enormous" roasts as well. Book on busy nights.

We have eaten there and had no problems.Food was good.However with all the restaurants we do enjoy on the coast haven't felt the need to go back.
