Yep - most efficient way to deal with Jetstar and refund was in my bank within 3 days.

    Dirty Old Jetstar

I guess if you don't want the risk of flight cancellations don't fly during a pandemic. It's hardly an airline specific issue as all of the airlines have similar cancellations.. more a gripe towards a brand.

QFF premium line - work from home?

Why force people into an office if they can WFH some of the time? Win Win.

Rex to fly between Australian capital cities

I do wonder what Rex's strategy is. Lately I seem to think they want to make as much noise as possible focussing on QF as a distraction.... When their real target is VA. ie.. upset Bain enough to think they will affect a potential Virgin IPO ($3.5bn at risk) that it forces Bain to buy them out...

Rex to fly between Australian capital cities

Absolutely QF will have higher costs but they have also been cutting alot (outsourcing ground handlers, redundancies etc). I would argue though they are in a better place as they own most of their fleet and will just be writing them down so huge on the books losses that they will benefit from...

Rex to fly between Australian capital cities

Agree re terrible yields for Rex. If Rex and QF both filled 48 seats on the aircraft and Qantas have been able to sell them for 3+ times the price of Rex it will likely be hurting Rex more than QF thats for sure.

Virgin Australia Financially Safe under Bain?

Nice to speculate by I don't think QF are going anywhere.

Rex to fly between Australian capital cities

I thought JQ domestic was profitable in the half year results? It was Jetstar Asian ops that dragged them into the red and things have gotten better in the 2nd half.

Rex accuses Qantas of predatory behaviour, withdraws from routes

Jetstar are starting SYD-HVB in a couple of months so pricing should be lower and non stop too.

Qantas introduces complimentary alcohol for economy passengers on all flights

Simple messaging really... It's Qantas just re asserting their position as the premium carrier while the competition is still working out what they are going to be.

    REX's new website (December 2020)

Yep agree. I was actually looking at changing my flight from Y to J to experience it but unable to even access MMB so a loss in $$ for them.

Rex to fly between Australian capital cities

Perhaps they need to relook at the initial business case. It seems intrastate routes seem to be the boom at the moment. Why not upgauge SYD-Ballina to the 737. Wasn't SYD-BNE supposed to have started by Easter? Seems as though that won't be happening given seats aren't even on sale yet...

Rex to fly between Australian capital cities

Only problem I have found is that the times I have been able to get award seats - there has been no accomodation on the island. 1612942596 Virgin have now matched both Y and J sales.

Qantas to outsource ground handling across Australia

There is a difference between being made redundant and getting the sack. You'll get the sack if you do something wrong usually with no compensation other than leave entitlements. When you are made redundant there are financial entitlements ie payments for years of service etc
