Not so sure. The building works are affecting all parts of the terminal at one time or another. It might save you some time, or it might be a case of "out of the frying pan..."

I'm looking at booking a return trip from Melbourne to Vientiane via Changi, arriving at Changi terminal 2. The second flight would have to be with Scoot, from terminal 1. Does anyone know whether I would be able to check in and check baggage in right through to Vientiane? This would enable us...

Ha, ha! I had $10 for every time I have heard someone declare "I will never fly Virgin/Qantas/Jetstar again" then I probably wouldn't have to worry about the cost of retaining WP!

I'd have no problem with the premium entry being closed as long as a premium security lane was maintained and staffed.

Ah well, it should at least be a character building experience for those of us who pass through regularly. :(

I'd just add that for me the extra cost of obtaining WP+ would be almost worth it if they would guarantee a neighbour free experience in Y.

Gift WP for one thing, though still able to gift Gold.

Thanks for the info. I understand the need for temporary arrangements during construction work, my issue is with the fact that the so-called premium entry lane isn't being policed and is thus almost meaningless.

This morning I discovered serious change in this, due to building renovations. Instead of a staffed dedicated entrance leading to a dedicated security check it seems we now have a supposedly dedicated lane (marked Premium Lounge entry) in the general security area. This lane was unstaffed and...

Seems to me Virgin had to offer something really attractive to lure pax back after the pandemic. Let's face it, reaching status has been absurdly easy. They seem to have made a commercial decision that having reeled us in they've got most of us hooked. It's a commercial decision.

Before you do, check out Qantas J fares. I fly regularly HBA to BNE and even now Qantas J fares are about double Virgin.
