Virgin Australia Discover Gold (Status Match)

Plenty of weird things have been happening since the famous system upgrades (such as the stuff ups with Coles status credits). Annoying, but as long as you get platinum rights where it matters (e.g. free access to Economy X seating, bonus velocity points on fares) then I guess it can be lived with.

Virgin Australia Discover Gold (Status Match)

That sounds a bit sus to me. Up to 8 weeks for the physical card and bag tags sounds feasible, but not for the actual status itself. What is showing as your virtual card in the Velocity app?

Virgin Australia Discover Gold (Status Match)

From memory, when I completed the Discover Gold status match in March 2021 I didn't get the box and dice set ... until later that year when I requalified for the next year in my own right.

I was refused a glass of sparkling water in J!

There's a number of factors at play here. Anyone who travels regularly in J will have observed a sizeable variation in the quality of service. Some FAs will do the bare minimum as stipulated by the rule book, and they are of course entitled to do so. Others are willing or even keen to go the...

    Question about WP complimentary upgrades

Could someone who knows be good enough to advise me please as to whether I (being WP) am able to use my complimentary upgrades to J to book flights that come after my review date? Thank you.

So have I, but I nonetheless feel duly chastened!

**Insert Month here** Coles status credits Late?

Oooh! I might try that 😉

**Insert Month here** Coles status credits Late?

Yes I seem to remember from the original T&C that gift cards was one of the exclusions.

Virgin Australia Discover Gold (Status Match)

I did a check with random dates, ADL to BNE Mar 29, BNE to NTL Maer 31 Qantas fully flexible: $689 + $531 = $1,220 VA fully flexible: $475 + $339 = $814 Difference: $406 That buys you an awfully large number of Tim Tams.

**Insert Month here** Coles status credits Late?

Or simply for those with autotransfer, 1 SC for every $25 spent, for others 1SC for every $50 spent, ignoring any leftovers! If you had autotransfer on for the whole month and got only double SCs instead of quadruple then they are in error.

**Insert Month here** Coles status credits Late?

Woo hoo! 39 December status credits for me!. Looks like the work experience kid isn't too good at Maths! 😁 Seriously though, I'd say it looks like it's being calculated as one for every $25 spent or pro rata rather than 4 for every $100, if that make sense.

Ah ha! Perhaps this means the dam has finally broken ....

There's no magic to it. It's all done by mirrors.

Virgin Australia Discover Gold (Status Match)

Of course. I just phoned the guest centre and much to my surprise and delight it was all sorted in a few minutes. Of course, your partner will need to first have a Velocity account, but that's easy for you to arrange. Caveat: I'm not sure whether this deal applies to the current Switcheroo...

As I recall they only usually bump you down one level, so my money's on silver.

Virgin Australia Discover Gold (Status Match)

Don't take this as gospel, but as I recall I didn't get awarded any of the paraphernailia until I subsequently qualified fully for next year in my own right (if my clumsy explanation mkaes sense). Funny thing is, my partner, to whom I gifted gold, got the complete set in the mail straight away!

Virgin Australia Discover Gold (Status Match)

Yes, that's when I came across, around March 2022 I think (?). And yes, I was able to confer gold upon my partner and indeed did so. 😀

I was refused a glass of sparkling water in J!

Nobody can be 100% on the mark all the time, but worth bearing in mind that any employee of any company who interfaces with customers is to that customer the face of the company. If an employee is rude to a customer, likely the customer's emotional response will be that Company X doesn't...

I was refused a glass of sparkling water in J!

I can assure you that my request was very soft spoken, polite and respectful. There was by no stretch of the imagination any hint of aggresion or entitlement or belittlement in the way I spoke. There never is. If you'd care to check my original post you'll see it's fairly good humoured, nothing...
