    JQ Fleet renewal

The first batch of 18xA321LRs have now come to a close, with the last one arriving a few days ago. The next bunch of deliveries are 13xA320Neos before the 321s kickoff again in the coming years right up until the end of the decade. The 1st A320N has just completed its first flight. Remains to...

    Jetstar looking at Toowoomba

Talks are underway apparently. Melbourne only. Bonza had around 60% loads on the Melbourne run, however JQ has better reach so I think would crack that 80% mark. Bundaberg-Melbourne was often another Bonza success story. Hoping they might look at this one also. Link Here

    AFR's Joe Aston goes BAM!

If you want a physical copy, managed to get one at BIGW this morning. Kmart and Target didn’t have it.

    AFR's Joe Aston goes BAM!

Then we have Rex who named its 737 after a current Transport Minister at the time, VH-MFM, after Michael McCormack. Influence behind closed doors is likely widespread

    Trouble Linking Velocity With Flybuys

Not yet was going to just wait for the next transfer bonus before I bother. I just know dealing with IT problems will probably go nowhere so was going to wait it out a bit, I’ve had poor experiences in the past with Flybuys so I gave up on them a while back. Flybuys is pretty backwards...

    Trouble Linking Velocity With Flybuys

Yes. I currently have 20,000 flybuys points built up and just growing because I can’t get the transfer to work. I had this issue 6 months ago.

    Qantas A330-200 cabin refurbishments

I welcome the mood lighting. All late night A330 flights I’ve had into Melbourne they had the lights on full. Drives me nuts. Many of the Chinese carriers also do this. Virgin are very consistent with the use of mood lighting.

    Ask The Pilot

AV, I was on a 737 MAX recently, non Australian carrier, and while exiting the runway, I noted one spoiler, the only closest to the wingtip, remained up for 10 seconds after the others went down. Any idea why this one lone spoiler decided to remain up? Is there a coughpit indicator that would...

    Virgin ADL MEL Sun 27/10/24

It will be to do with a Perth -700 rotating around the network. They shuffle around over the weekends, possible for engineering also.

Qatar Airways to acquire 25% of Virgin Australia

Still no submission on the IASC site. Bit risky getting ACCC approval which is obviously likely, but leaving the IASC on the table while it goes through the process. Will be a nice big juicy submission against it from a major competitor, certainly can delay things. Or is the thinking that...

Jetstar with Kids - no seat selection

Jetstar have always had terrible form with the Adults/Kids being separated and I’ve seen dramas on many flights. No idea why they haven’t fixed this issue. It’s been going on since they updated the software about a decade ago. I’ve also seen vulnerable elderly split away from family members...

    Qantas International Schedule changes

QFi is a still a vulnerable part of the business, Jetstar not so much. Really shows the weakness of QFi outside of USA/Europe. QFi has high margin targets so they will continue to shuffle the fleet around in the Asia region if capacity climbs. They hang on about it as being a ‘strength’ of...

Qantas Expands International Network - Commences Flights To Seoul & Bengaluru

Will probably be worse when they go to the slimline recaro seats soon.

    Qantas International Schedule changes

I thought JFK was a relatively strong route? US Carriers have pulled back capacity into NZ so thought that would have only benefited this route.

Jetstar nonstop services between Australia and the Cook Islands

This route coming up 18 months in operation, thought I would look at some of the numbers. Still appears to be unprofitable, average LF is around the mid 60s. The best month they had was around 80%, seemed to be a one off. Things seemed to have deteriorated since they added the fourth weekly...

    Qantas International Schedule changes

ICN has probably suffered from overcapacity on the leisure end from Sydney. We have Jetstar with its new flights, plus T’Way multiple times weekly with its dense A330s, seems to be a similar impact to the VietJet impact on Vietnam routes, yield seems very low.
