Turkish Airlines flights to Sydney start November 2024

Yes, if the final destination is IST then perhaps it might be OK in J Class. However if one is still continuing on from IST then this is probably one of the worst flights out there. Doing this in Y with a last leg to Europe is tough. I find it bizarre that they have not applied for fifth...

    Updated EU safety list

Certainly some operators one has never heard before, Busy Bee Congo Airlines sounds like a winner. 😂

They change crews I assume? If not that’s a tough slog!

Virgin Australia to lease more 737s

Such an embarrassment a flagship capital route being offloaded to a Fokker. Certianly is apologies in advance to the codesharing international travelling community who end up on this flight. A E190 at a minimum would suffice.

Virgin Australia to lease more 737s

With Cabin Crew and Pilots Negotiations all finalised, one would hope this would be a smoother running Christmas in Virgin land.

Certainly a good thing. Spare aircraft is great, but hopefully they have spare crew available.

ASIC sues Rex for allegedly misleading the market on company's profitability

I think I we spent the whole of 2022/2034 on here banging on about Rex and it’s poor loads and questionable monthly ‘unaudited’ results. No surprises really. They have been withholding important information for considerable time. Many on here didn’t get fooled.

AS to launch services to Asia from SEA

I think if you come back in a decade, Alaska will be a dominant player in the widebody market from SEA to International. Huge potential. It’s clear the long term plan is 737/787. Hopefully we see Seattle to Oz direct some day.

Virgin Australia to lease more 737s

From another site. No MAX aircraft on the line it seems at the moment according to some Seattle blogs. I’d say probably early next year until we see the arrivals flow again. I wonder if the 8I and 8V rego block will indicate anything different, ie domestic only. VH-8II (MSN 65121, LN 9216)...

    Emirates receive their first A350

Bit odd with all the time they had prior to delivery they didn’t nut out a closed suite or something.

Turkish Airlines flights to Sydney start November 2024

Appears not, but perhaps they are restricted to one (ie MEL-SIN) and don’t want to go down the path of applying for further changes. I can’t help to think the route would be incredibly loss making however.

Everyday Rewards launches Everyday Extra subscription product

I’d expect some decent offers for those down south impacted by the recent strikes, lure me back Woolworths with thousands of points otherwise I’m sticking to Coles! 😂 On the flip side would be smart of Coles to do the same.

Would it be possible to make a hotel chain like Ryanair work (something that's affordable and provides good value)

We stayed at the Tune at London Paddington a few times, we also stayed at the Pod Hotels in NYC. I note Tune in London is no longer. Needless to say one would assume costs got away from them. On the occasion I was solo they had been fine, having been well experienced with LCCs I was aware what...

Virgin Australia to lease more 737s

I recall Virgin operated intra QLD back with the E170, a whole bunch of those Bonza like routes, they didn’t last long though. Perhaps a turboprop would be better but I recall the prop has high costs also. I’ve got a VB boarding pass in the travel collection box in the shed, Cairns-Townsville...

Virgin Australia to lease more 737s

The turboprop markets I can only really see would be Albury, Mildura and Canberra. They can probably get Link to operate these without the capital outlay. However, your point could be valid when the Saab becomes obsolete. Sydney to Canberra is obviously an important one. I think Albury is a...

Virgin Australia to lease more 737s

The entire A320 fleet is approaching the second D check. Would likely be more valuable on the parts market so quite unlikely they will last much longer.

Virgin Australia to lease more 737s

I think they will be super careful when it comes to fleet complexity, the CEO talked out this at the CAPA conference. If anything they need to get rid of the A320s and run a 737/E190 fleet. Remember the days of 737/ATR/F50/F100/A330/777/A320. 😵‍💫 Oh I forgot about E170/190!
