Qatar Airways to acquire 25% of Virgin Australia

Many outlets reporting it was tension between JH and Bain. However, then Rex fell over, and QR talks obviously beefed up, so that’s an awkward path for Bain to navigate, as they need her experience to get through those things. The stumbling with the float attempts, and some personal reasons on...

Qatar Airways to acquire 25% of Virgin Australia

JH is appearing at numerous conferences over the coming months, as VAA CEO. So I don’t think she is going anywhere until 2025. I do recall John Borghetti had a similar long winded departure also. Alan Joyce likewise. Perhaps Qatar want Jayne on board until they can get everything past the...

    Last QantasLink 717 service

So what happened to all the Pilots? The A220 fleet is tiny compared to the 717 fleet. Are they just waiting around for the A220 or have they gone to other parts in the group, ie Mainline Qantas?

Qatar Airways to acquire 25% of Virgin Australia

An interesting part in this is the delayed departure of the CEO Jayne Hrdlicka. It’s clear that Paul Jones was the lead contender. It seems things have changed. His previous stint at Qantas might be an issue for QR. I also think they might want someone with some financial experience behind...

Jetstar nonstop services between Australia and the Cook Islands

I only say that, as if you look at the past increases from 3 to 4, overall traffic didn’t shift that much at all. However 5, certainly gives people more options in terms of planning so might be more attractive.

Jetstar nonstop services between Australia and the Cook Islands

It seems that is the case when looking at the numbers. A320ceo with Sharklets has similar range compared to the 320N. It’s the LR that’s the weapon on these routes. I think driving some frequency might assist with driving more traffic on these routes.

    Everyday Rewards Targeted Offers

He noted the things I buy on special then become boosters when they are not on special often 1-2 weeks after. I can see what they are trying to do there. Not falling for that one.

    Everyday Rewards Targeted Offers

Agree I was about to mention that. They did mention they are still increasing instore promotions, so it appears the margin is going to be burnt in store, and EDR will take a back seat. Coles still throwing a few offers around. Got 10% off this week plus spend and earn offers.

New VA App book flights Search

Welcome addition however. Most US carriers have in app booking. I’ve used the Delta app and it’s certainly top notch. Jetstar enables flight search input in the app, then throws you to a browser.

    AFR's Joe Aston goes BAM!

Dutton would do himself a favour if he came out and banned CL for his team. Voters hate this sort of stuff. Would resonate well. Shock horror. Politicians subjected to the departure lounge or the lower tier lounges. Might give them an opportunity to have a chat with constituents.

    AFR's Joe Aston goes BAM!

It seems to be like, if it’s declared, it’s all good. Regardless if you are the National Anti Corruption Commission or the Transport Minister. We need standards. It’s all just a big joke really.

    AFR's Joe Aston goes BAM!

No doubt. I see some political parties are keeping quiet over this.

    AFR's Joe Aston goes BAM!

Very loose use of words. I guess he could then go down the path of ‘someone else did it for me but I don’t know who that was’
