Overview of Best Qantas Status Run Options [not the discussion thread]

Yeah I seem to be able to get around the same, would love some tips on where to look for sub $2/SC these days...

Citibank Plus - No Fee No Overseas Transaction Fee Account

I think you missed Duffa's point about getting a 10% discount for paying cash. Not sure where my 3.33Cents per citi point came from... 5PPD or 10% cash discount = 2 cents per citi point or about 3 cents per KF mile. Would you pay 3cents per KF mile? (this isn't even including the 3.3% surcharge...

FINALLY! - Citi launching Citi Prestige with Visa Infinite

If you really wanted to get the $700 annual fee back you'd be better getting $700 of Visa/MC prepaid gift cards... less points and just as good as cash....

FINALLY! - Citi launching Citi Prestige with Visa Infinite

Yes... isn't that what I said? :) 5ppd on sel translates to 3.33SQ. 4ppd on sig translates to 2.66SQ.

FINALLY! - Citi launching Citi Prestige with Visa Infinite

Well if you're getting $0 annual fee for the select it's a no brainer! (and I'd love some tips on how to manage that!)

FINALLY! - Citi launching Citi Prestige with Visa Infinite

That's correct.... which is what my numbers show... (same transfer rate as sig on SQ/VA, you just earn more ppd on select)... Citi Sig earns 1PPD (SQ/VA) Citi Sel earns 1.33PPD (SQ/VA)

FINALLY! - Citi launching Citi Prestige with Visa Infinite

True... I've read some people get the card for half price which would be nice... Yes my figures only for A$ spend... If you have heavy overseas spend then the 20% extra citi points (4ppd vs 5ppd) could come into it... Not sure there are that many other useful benefits of the select over sig?

FINALLY! - Citi launching Citi Prestige with Visa Infinite

All Select holders... Here are my numbers... Ignore the colours... But you can see at >$275k spend per year is when the Select starts to overtake the fee free sig. But like I said above that's based on using the first 137k Citi points to get $700 of prepaid visa/mc... Most of us wouldn't...

FINALLY! - Citi launching Citi Prestige with Visa Infinite

The tipping point where it would make sense to get the Select instead of Fee Free Sig is 275k/year (based on redeeming for SQ/VA points). And that's based on getting $700 of gift cards to cover the select annual fee to bring them back level.

FINALLY! - Citi launching Citi Prestige with Visa Infinite

You'd be surprised at how much spend you can funnel through supermarket :) Plat edge gives 2PPD at petrol stations and DJ Amex will also give 3PPD but DJ MR points aren't real MR points... only good for transfer to SPG at 1:0.5

FINALLY! - Citi launching Citi Prestige with Visa Infinite

Can't see them ever adding AA as they have no real presence in AU.... best we could hope for is SPG (at 1:1 preferably) which would actually be better than AA 1:1 :) If SPG 1:1 happened I'd be all over it (when I say 1:1 I'm talking 1$ = 1SPG point)... Amex gives me 3PPD on most of my Amex...

Citibank Plus - No Fee No Overseas Transaction Fee Account

Simple, would you buy Citi points for 3.33Cents each if you were offered them at that price? I wouldn't.

FINALLY! - Citi launching Citi Prestige with Visa Infinite

You have been around AFF too long. No doubt AA is a better value program than QF and VA but most people wouldn't know that and would stick to path of least resistance (QF/VA or Amex MR).... besides don't underestimate Amex MR...

FINALLY! - Citi launching Citi Prestige with Visa Infinite

Since when can the Signature (or any AU Citi card) transfer to SPG? I think you're thinking of Amex MR?

That would be nice, but I use DJ Amex, don't think it will qualify...

    MEL - Pre-Pay Parking

I was just reading the T&C which says What payment methods are accepted when making online bookings? Melbourne Airport accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Dinners cards for payment of car park online bookings. A credit card processing fee of 2% applies to all credit card...
