Australian Reports of the Virus Spread

Got Covid in late March and symptoms not severe at all but subsequent 'long covid' quite severe - triple vaxed with 3rd dose in mid Jan 2022. Short term memory is a thing of the past, although now 9 times out of ten getting up to get/do something no longer sees me forgetting what I had got up...

Do you have any blockers installed? I've found that on some sites they will allow everything to show except the login script (for example).

China travel bans from Late 2022

Or more pointedly - what chance do the cabin and air crew have of not getting Covid-19. Mind you, due to massive (virtually no deaths ;)) infection spread leading to the break down of goods transportation - SBS reported that the CCP is instructing asymptomatic infected to turn up at work. A...

    Bordering Corruption (or Conniption)?

..with several large suitcases dumped/dropped on top of them... Without any malice intended. Judging by the damage our checked bags seem to get nearly every outing. It takes a lot for the airline elastic attached address labels to come off - and on the two flights this year they came of both...

    Scams like these

As 28 Degrees doesn't give any points for transactions I only use it for foreign currency or location transactions. So the one time they cancelled my card (but none of supps) it wasn't a problem. That said, given it is run by Citi (now NAB) when my Citi (Fee free for life) card got cancelled &...

    Scams like these

I wondered about that also some years back but one knowledgeable person suggested that multiple emails on the same day was often driven by how many different lists of email addresses the scammer had purchased. Given how many groups onsell your email address (companies, many charities etc) then...

Amex "I'm going to cancel my card" - bonus points given thread.

It would be really useful if when posting about your experiences if you could say exactly what Amex card type it was, CC vs charge etc.

    Flybuys Targeted Bonus Promotions

Theoretically yes, but I hate having to chase it up & speak with 'your team leader or manager please' when often they say no.

    Scams like these

Paid the fine - was not much (under AUD 50) and no charges from Hire Car company either. Just the concern about the Czech-based email & poor English. Given the HC was from Munich then the risk (once I was 51% confident that the email attachment would not do any harm when opened) is whether...

    Made any travel mistakes lately?

JAL ground staff at Tokyo saved the day for us some years ago when #1 son decided he was too hot & took off his super warm combination jacket (we found in London on a miserable sleet day in early Jan) but didn't want it put into a carry-on bag. A last minute change of gates at the airport saw...

    Flybuys Targeted Bonus Promotions

Looking at the T&Cs - that should work. HOWEVER - I'd allow for human input & place the order no later than the morning of the 26th. No F&V, bread or chilled/frozen items. Just make sure you pad your purchase slightly (say $54.90 ish) to allow for any out of stock items - unless you're...

Even worse risk - for a fine/toll on a foreign rental car hire. Driving through Czech Republic and on an uphill section (around 7km) the speed limit changed close to 8 times (from around 100km to 40km). Turns out they had a well hidden camera at one of the transitions and my coasting to slow...

Who else still holds the Citibank Free For Life Premier Card?

I'm glad my card has a 2027 expiry date then. Used my 2nd Priority pass this year just last weekend. Made sure I achieved full value - arranged connecting flight to get there just as it opened & had around 3 hours to use it. As I left there was a queue of around 20 people waiting to get in.
