    Good offer but be aware it’s no longer possible to book Qantas with Alaska points. Not an official change, just the reality. Very annoying.

    As far as I am aware, VA doesn’t coordinate pricing or schedules with EY or SQ, so I’m not sure what your point is. Nothing from a competition perspective is being taken away, so I don’t see how it is stifling competition in any way. It’s only improving it.

    This is quite common with Qantas and NAB cards. What often happens is the authorisation stays pending while the charge posts separately - meaning for a brief period you don’t have access to those funds.

    Why would I expect a change? Because their whole relationship is going to change. QR has also status matched VA Plat to QR Plat previously. Is reciprocal status really out of the question? Looking at the ACCC submission, it's clear VA and QR are planning to work VERY closely together on loyalty...
