New TRS rules? Goods no longer included in cap?

The machines print a letter of the alphabet on your SmartGate ticket every time you pass through. The officers check which letter you have at the exit, and if you have one with a meaning other than 'go straight out', they can point you in the right direction for the relevant check. The letters...

Amex "I'm going to cancel my card" - bonus points given thread.

Here's a new one. Called to downgrade from Ultimate to Discovery after the annual fee hit, because I didn't particularly want to pay the $450. Was offered 40K QFF to keep the Ultimate and not downgrade. Very unexpected and I was genuinely going to downgrade, so a nice surprise!

    No Coffee Machine in J?

VA hasn't ever had a cabin called BusinessFirst (that's what United used to call long haul business class some years back, before it became Polaris), but yeah, no espresso machines on VA's B737s.

Credit Card Offers Amex Platinum Card Benefits, Offers & Discussion

I'm not sure you can really 'upgrade' as one is a credit card and the other is a charge card - two different types of financial products.

Credit Card Offers Qantas Premier Titanium: 150,000 bonus Qantas Points

Probably. It's working now too on cards in the Citi Rewards family (Linked Diners Club excluded).

Credit Card Offers Qantas Premier Titanium: 150,000 bonus Qantas Points

It took them long enough, but Google Pay finally works for this and the other Qantas Premier cards.

Platinum Charge Personal more supplementary cards?

I assume you're probably wanting to add the supps for the Plat Charge benefits more so than the points? If it's just the latter, you could always add different supps to the free Platinum Reserve companion card (which has limited benefits like Hilton Silver, 2x Amex lounge passes per year per...

    New Amex statement credits

I could only find it on QF Ultimate primary and VA Plat primary. Not on my other primary or additional cards.

    New Amex statement credits

On a couple of my cards today: Vodafone - 20% back up to $20 (so up to $100/$20) Nice to see a Vodafone offer as normally the phone ones have just been for Telstra and Optus. Best of all, you can make manual payments onto postpaid accounts in any amount, so 2x$100 payments for $40 in easy...

Bonus points on Amex -> Qantas transfers?

Last offer I can find is from April 2022, where it was 10% on transfers up to 299,999 points, and 20% on transfers above that. The offers before that were a bit more generous, with bonuses at higher rates (15-25%) plus 1 SC per 5k points converted. Certainly due for another! (But selfishly...

Credit Card Offers CommBank Ultimate Awards Card: 100K award points – potentially fee free

On Amex Plat vs CBA Ultimate overseas, my thoughts are this. CBA earns the equivalent of 1 SQ mile per $1 spent (3/$1 earn, 3:1 convert). AMEX Plat earns the equivalent of 1.125 SQ miles (2.25/$1 earn, 2:1 convert), but with a 3% foreign transaction fee on top. That's an extra 3 cents for...

    New Amex statement credits

It does if you're at the appropriate tier (check the Qantas website and put in your QFF and Accor tiers and it'll tell you what's possible), but you have to book direct with Accor. As QFF Gold with Accor Gold and accounts linked, I can earn 3 QFF/$1 direct into my QFF account when I book...

    New Amex statement credits

You won't earn points/status with ALL when you've booked through Qantas Hotels - it's one or the other. They usually don't extend benefits of ALL status on third party bookings either... one of the many things they do to try and encourage you to book direct!

    New Amex statement credits

I've found with cabs and Placie, you have to tell them it's charged 'on the booking account', as it doesn't show payment details, but when they close it off it submits it for payment. Placie has been great for me when using Didi instead, as the driver never expects actual direct payment...

Who else has to regularly chase up Qantas for points & status credits owed....

Well, I badgered QFF once again by phone today and finally, my flights were manually credited. Points, annual status credits, loyalty bonus tally and lifetime status credits all updated. Only took three months! 😂

QF-QR baggage interline agreement on two PNRs

To answer a few of the Qs above, I recently flew MEL-SYD-DFW-ORD on QF+AA. Qantas reward ticket MEL-SYD-DFW, AA revenue fare on the domestic leg, booked directly with AA. MEL domestic check-in (International flights counter) didn't want to do it. Well, they tried and couldn't find the...

Does Altitude Qantas exclude Altitude Rewards?

Westpac refers to the products as 'Altitude Rewards', 'Altitude Qantas' and 'Altitude Velocity'. The writing of the condition just avoids redundancy in the word 'Altitude' when listing multiple products under the same grouping in the same sentence. (It doesn't help with clarity though that...

Who else has to regularly chase up Qantas for points & status credits owed....

Frustratingly, I've been waiting on two 3K flights to credit since November. Multiple emails to 3K, who in the end said to talk to Qantas. Lodged missing points claims with QFF, no action after over a month. Emailed everything necessary to QFF and got a service number, but still no action...
